    Hello,

I'm moving to Philadelphia and I was wondering what the best way is to catch all the Patriots games live.

    Thanks!

Get NFL Sunday ticket or go out to a sports bar. If you go with the latter, be careful. You could have bullets flying at you by a deranged Wide Receiver in his declining years when you leave.

Oh man... looks like I'll have to purchase a bulletproof vest. Sunday ticket is only available on direct-tv. I only get cable.

They only despise Patriots fans. It's Cowboys fans they shoot to kill.

Not sure if Patriots.com still has it listed but at one point they were taking registrations for Patriots Fan Clubs that were around the United States. You might want to check them out and see if there are any listed in the Philly area.

I've always wondered this as well if I eventually move somewhere out of the New England area.

And a sports bar with a muted screen is totally out of my Sunday tradition.

The website above streams live games during game day, also refereed to as SopCast, and would probably be your best option. It almost always has every single game, only problem is - at least with my experience - it gets a little choppy at times and can stop right during the game to buffer.

Thanks guys. I know about the streaming thingie but I've been spoiled by high-def. I wouldn't hesitate to pay for high-def. I don't know how but sports ain't the same without high-def. :D

Depending on where you live in Philly (center city or burbs) Trenton NJ has a great sports bar called champs. Which is actually closer to Yardley, Morrisville etc. than center city. It's a big Steeler bar but fans of every team go. There is one Pats fan who is a mainstay named Scott who is the size of a linebacker and has alot of fun yelling at all of the Steeler fans. I lived in Doylestown (Bucks County) it's a great place and real estate is much less prohibitive than Mass. Have Fun! As far as center city or the mainline I'm sure there are many bars.

I'll be in center city. Nothing beats waking up for sunday morning soccer, then come home to relax with Mike Lynch patriots show, then game on. I already miss boston. Superbowl, NBA finals, World Series, MLS cup. :(

Only five by my count, including NFL Network (vs. jets thu, 11/13):

I assume that will change with the flexible sched, though I also assume that the rest of the country may suffer from Pats fatigue.

Dude I would just make the switch to the dish. The sunday ticket would be well worth it for you. You could than watch all the Pats games comfortably at home on your couch and you would be rewarded with every other NFL game as well.

I've been going to school in Philly for the past 3 and a half years, and I've made the rounds concerning sports bars. First off, Philly is a s***** place to be a fan of any other team but the Iggles. The fans are awful and dilusional. Sadly, everything you've heard about them is true. Lucky for me I'm a girl so I get treated well...but I can't say the same for some of my guy friends.

I drive back to Boston to go to every home game during the regular/post season, but when the Pats are playing away or I absolutely can't get up to the game there are a few places I really like:

Bayou Bar in Manayunk. Manayunk is awesome and Bayou has good food and drink specials. It's not too far from Center City and it's worth it. There are plenty of fans of other teams here.

Barrister's. Rittenhouse/Samson St. I like this place as well. Good bar and better than average food. However it's pricey...or a least I thought so.

Pour House Tavern. Ridge Ave. This place is good too. I've heard they have a free tailgate buffet on Sunday's in the early afternoon during the season. I have no idea if it is good or not... but it's free. The big draw to this place for me is the drink specials on game day.

If you are making a permanent move, invest in Sunday ticket. By the time you pay for food, beer, and tip it ends up costing more. I'm here temporarily and only need to go to a sports bar about 4 or 5 times during the season.
    Hope this helps. :)

Now thats what I am talking about. I need to find a girl like you.

I made the drive thru 5 years of college and I didn't miss a home game, a streak still alive today dating back to the old stadium. Of course my drive was from the springfield mass area so not even close to the same.

Good thing for you this team really gives you reason to want to make the drive even though you prolly would for a 1-15 Pats team.

Why is there even a debate about this. Switch to DirecTV and get the Sunday Ticket. While you are at it, make sure you get the New England local channels so you can get NESN and Comcast New england, and chan 4,7 etc.

With DirectTV, you can get the local programming from any market you wish.

Thanks all. The problem is I'm not sure the condo allows dish installation. I've sent them an email but I've not received a reply. So I'm expecting the worst. If they let me, I'd do it in a flash. I can't stand comcast.

    Jess,
Thanks for the tip on the bars. I'm gonna be living a block from the kimmel center so Barrister's sounds good. Where do you go to school?

Villanova. For the most part, I hit up the bars in Ardmore/Bryn Mawr and Manayunk because it's closer to my school. However, since you said you were moving to CC, I tried to name places I liked relatively close to you.

I have a few other bar suggestions for you. I'll PM them to you when I get a chance.
