Casey Hampton & Co. feels Pittsburgh was 'cheated' for team of the decade

Ask any non-Steelers fan what the worst officiated game in the history of any sport was, and the answer will invariably come back "Steelers/Seahawks, Superbowl."

The Steelers should keep quiet...

Speaking of cheating, the Steelers have a sordid past of their own :

The Flem File knows Pittsburgh Steelers are champions, but they also have a dark side - ESPN

Bottom line on the Patriots, we have to live with it, although we didn't "cheat" that's the perception of all the other fans out there and players will perpetually fan the flames. Anyone who is bothered by it has to learn to ignore it and/or grow thicker skin because "it is what it is" and the barbs won't be stopping in our lifetime.

I get what you are saying but you would think the players of the Steelers that have been with the team for years would not only be happy with the possibility of winning a 3rd championship in the past 10 years but a 7th SB Title as well for the franchise

...but that apparently is not enough, they want the irrelevant title of team of the decade as well which really has little bearing on anything except bragging rights  and if you go by wins alone,NE is hands down the best between the two.

At least our QB doesn't need cops to help him score.

Didn't Cowher himself say that the Pats are the team of the decade? Them Stealers are sending mixed signals!

Pats:
10 out of last 11 years have had a 10 win or more season.
3 out of 4 SBs
Went too 4 out of 6
BEAT the Steelers twice in THEIR stadium for a chance to go to the SB
Own multiple winning streak records within the Decade

If the Steelers win, they will Tie New England for SB wins this decade, however, The pats went through the Steelers twice on their championships, Steelers have proven only to be able to get to the big game when New England is forced out.

Head to Head is even way unbalanced, and these team meet just about every year.

It's close IF They win, but the reality is, the Pats have dominated this Decade in wins, quality wins, records, historical records, just about everything.

We didn't have the best offense of this decade, but of all time. We didn't have a QB who threw the most TD in a season this decade, but of ALL TIME. The Pats have 2 consecutive win streak records this decade... 2!!!!

If Cowher and Rooney's word isn't good enough for them then I don't know what is. If anyone should feel cheated it should be the seahawks...or the pats for the refs handing the colts the AFCCG on a silver plater...

Bill C said that SpyGate wasn't a factor in the Pats wins over the Steelers.

Mike Greenberg started pulling this nonsense this past week.

His position was, 'Does the decade end with a 9 or a 0'. If it ends with a 9, then New England is ToD. If it ends in a 0, then Pitt has a legitimate shot at ToD.

With all that said, Pats stil deserve it no matter how you slice it.

Mike Greenberg is a weasel and a Jets fan. The man hates the Pats and all Boston teams in all sports.

Give me a break! Even if they win this SB, that's what, 3 in 6 years? We did 3 in 4 years. Who had the 16-0 season? Who won their division more?! Christ, in 2005 they let the freakin' Bungles get away with the division.

if anyone should know about cheating it's the steelers. someone should ask hampton how many steelers have suffered from the side affects of steroid abuse. they're famous for it.

Maybe Hampton should worry more about Green Bay and not the Pats of the last 10 years. The guy sounds like a jealous cry baby. He seems to have missed out on a few key facts.

When the Pats beat the Steelers in the 2001 AFCC the Pats offense managed 10 points and 259 total yards. The Pats won that game by scoring 14 points from special teams.

In 2004, the Pats offense managed 322 total yards and the Steelers offense turned the ball over 4 times.

Maybe someone could have asked Hampton how apparently stealing the Steelers defensive signals helped the Pats with the defense and special teams.

Not to mention the other two facts of the Steelers training for over 20 years being linked to PED's, specifically HGH. Or the fact that Bill Levy, who was a referee in the Stealers superbowl victory over the Seahawks admitted to making mistakes on calls the he claimed "impacted the game". Im guessing Hampton forgot about that.

The Patriots did cheat. But it was legal. Stealing signals is legal. To this day, it's legal. It's not our fault that your coach did not have cameras put in an appropriate place to steal the Patriots' signals. You guys didn't care enough, you were overconfident, and you didn't go the extra mile.

Not to mention the fact that the Patriots did NOTHING offensively in their first AFCCG against the Steelers. They won the game on a Troy brown punt return and a punt-return TD.

11 years... 2000 5-11, 2002 9-7...
"went too 4 out of 6" - what?

If it ends with a 9, we win when it counts our 5-11 season, but if it ends in a 0 we lose because our 14-2 season this year replaces our 5-11 season?
Or am I confused and our 1999 8-8 season is also somehow involved here which still is better than 14-2...

But but....we knew their signs on their punt coverage and field goal teams! Really!

Spygate wasn't a factor in Pittsburgh losing those 2 AFCCGs at home..the true factor was....
