all I have to say is...
Based on the snippets I've seen, I actually understand the verdict with regards to the 1st degree murder charge. It's tough, tough, tough to pin capital murder on someone, and they didn't really have that on her. Evidence of her being a crappy human being and a horrendous mother? Sure. But not capital murder.
I don't get, however, the verdict regarding the child abuse charge. Of course, I wasn't there for the trial, was not privy to what jurors were, and have witnessed the case from the outside, so that admittedly biases my POV. But still, I could have sworn that was a slam dunk.
Strange indeed. I will say though that this verdict might be worth it just to see that sanctimonious maniac Nancy Grace have a meltdown on TV. Set your DVRs.
Pretty much what I expected as I posted before. I still think the father had something to do with the coverup. The prosecution could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt due to lack of evidence. Hopefully fate gets a crack at Casey Anthony is all anyone can hope for that believes her guilty. Really do not understand why they went for a death penalty verdict with so little actual evidence.
Hahahaha.....Nancy Grace is gunna pull a "scanners"

I don't understand how it's a crime to bury someone that died naturally in their own back yard but dumping your daughter's body in the woods is ok. As has been said, I can understand not having enough evidence to find her guilty of capital murder. But how on Earth is there no crime here beyond lying to police?
The more I think of it her life is going to be a living hell - the media will never let go of it. Unless she can move to North Korea, Syria, China or Russia she's cooked. she won't be partying or enjoying life like any other young person. She may make money from a book or movie deal but it will just pay for the drugs she will need.
I don't know, I've always thought people have pretty short memories.
Fixed it for you. I understand the verdict though I'm sickened by it. Unfortunately time and the elements destroyed evidence that might have determined a cause of death. When most people lose a child, they can barely get out of bed in the morning while she was partying in a nightclub and lying to the cops. That family, as dysfunctional as they are know more than they let on...
Something tells me that the cops haven't come to that house for the last time...............
I was not shocked, she got off of 1st degree murder.
I think she did it, I just think it was hard to prove with
out a reasonable doubt.
I was shocked that she did not get charged with child abuse.
How do you not report a missing girl for 30 days and party up a
storm, and not get charged with child abuse when the little girl
turns up dead.
Driving to work after the verdict, I hear some women call up and say
the system worked.
The system worked?
86% of people polled, believed that she had something to do with
her daughters death....
The system worked?
She had no defense.......
The system worked?
This is worse than the OJ case in my eyes.
OJ killed in a jealous rage..... Casey killed her daughter because she
got in the way of her party time.....
Too bad Ted Bundy was not still around. I would like to introduce him
to Casey when she get's out of jail.....
Watch as she gets her own show on CNN...

Sometimes we agree, Joe. This is one of those times.
What I read somewhere kind of said it best. Florida has a history of charging more than possible to get a plea deal - they use the death penalty as a bargaining chip. But it failed miserably in this case. Perhaps that system works - perhaps not and it failed big time on this one.
As others have said this is a mother and proving mother cases is very, very hard without concrete proof. Just imagining that a mother would kill their child is unimaginable to most of us. That someone would kill for robbery or revenge is so much easier to sell to a jury. there was no history of police to the house for anything she did to her child - the prosecution way overplayed their hand.
How do you prove abuse? They were trying to prove abuse for a child that was deceased. The abuse was her actions after the 16th - how could they prove that? I hope for all concerned that it truly was an accident and they screwed up - it's the most IMO we can hope for.
What goes around, comes around.. payback is a bytch.
She will "write" a book and it will become a "bestseller" and she will move anonymously after she gets a makeover.
innocent until PROVEN guilty.
from the very little I have read, they didnt have any real evidence thag she killed anyone, only that she was a terrible person .
there are more terrible people than her out there... Doesnt mean every bad parent is a killer.
they should have waited to go to trial until they had the evidence.
Exactly, the Media wanted her guilty but the jury took care of that.
Remember all of the "the system works stuff" in the Media with O J Simpson, there were people all across america cheering when his verdict came in, well here we go again.
I can't resist this, "if Casey lived in the horrible middle east she would have been stoned to death 3 years ago" then they would have cut her head off and hung it up on a bridge.
If Casey Anthony lived in the horrible middle east she would have been stoned to death five years ago when she first became pregnant out of wedlock.

and according to you, weren't they racist?

I'll have to think about it------
