This action wouldn't have been undertaken given the circumstances without the approval of the CiC Obama.

But I don't get it, yesterday everyone was criticizing him for not doing anything about it....Remember when you said that Jefferson had no problem figuring out what to do about the Barbary pirates??? Drudge even had a headline at the top of his page that said "Failure to Act".........

I woudn't want to accuse you of laying blame when it isn't resolved and not giving credit when it is resolved....

You guys jumped the shark and now have egg on your face yet again. You should have listened to me when I said this:

But instead you were writing gems like this, eager to take another swipe at Obama:

What was that about "manning up" and admitting you were wrong?

They would have accused Bush of murder and racism the Pelosi Gang would have wanted him Impeached and you can bet that Sharpton and Jackoff would have been right in the middle of it.

And the obvious next question is what to do with the captured pirate?? Gitmo is out as a destination, so do they try him in a US court and send him to a US prison?? the court at the Hague??? A Somali one (yeah right?)

From what i've heard they're taking the pirate to NY for trial, hes not a terrorist hes part of an organized crime outfit. Personally i would have said he was trying to escape and well ahh... hes dead.

It always was dumb to blame Obama for the incident. This has been happening for quite a while, just not to our guys.

In one of his drunken all-caps rants above, good ol' Harry got the reaction right: Having blamed Obama for the incident, you have to say he got it right, however he handled it, even if it's saying at the outset: You guys get paid to get this stuff right, do what you get paid for.

I will say it sounds to me like SOMEONE gave the order not to let them get to shore in any circumstances. They were 20 miles from shore when the good guys made their move. Think about it if the pirates got to "their" turf with this guy.

It's just a good news story, for once. Well-done to the US Navy and its CiC.

You have to wonder just how hard it is for three armed guys to keep 1 hostage from just jumping out of the boat and swimming away. These guys sure weren't worthy of a Tom Clancy novel. I bet Jack Bauer could have made all of 'em cry with a frown.

Great job by the Seals. All's well that ends well. Too bad they didn't have the OK after the first attempt this guy made to free himself, but at least they got it right the second time around.

I was thinking along the same lines. I mean, that's how it always works in the movies and on TV. The other thought I had, was the captain must not watch Myth Busters. One episode had the guys shooting guns into a pool and testing how far the bullet would travel. They started out with small caliber and ended up with some pretty big stuff (gun enthusiast chime in here). The conclusion, when in the water, don't worry about flying bullets.

Side note: my nephew is probably pumped as he's currently training special forces for the Air Force.
