Pats collapse in 4th quarter to the Broncos and lose a gut-wrenching gm in OT

Red Sox give up 3 runs in the 9th and get swept in ALDS.

Yanks head to ALCS

Colts go to 5-0

Steelers after a rough start, match the Pats record at 3-2

Am i leaving anything out, lol?:)

Yes, the Pats blowing a chance at a perfect season. Nothing will ever top that.

Hey, what about that day when Boston heard about how two airplanes turned the Twin Towers into a stack of smoldering rubble? Or when Boston heard about how John F. Kennedy or Abraham Lincoln or whoever the hell else we care about was shot to death?

The Patriots lost a game.

The Red Sox are not going to win the World Series every single season.

Get over it.

At least the bruins came back last night and beat the islanders in a shootout

Feb 3rd 2008 was the worst day in Boston or any sports day period.... Still will put some blame on Arlen Spector and Mike Fish of BSPn

Yeah, Week 1 against KC last year.

I don't give two ****s about the Red Sox.

I know I will get flamed for this, but here goes .. I really don't care about the item in bold. But rest of the stuff I agree :)

Today was a crappy day for Boston sports...but far from the worst day. Plus, there's been more good Boston sports days than bad the past few years ...so I can't complain :)

What are you.......14? If so, then that explains your lack of memory. If not, then you haven't been a Boston sports fan for very long.

The Red Sox got swept and the Patriots lost a regular season game at Denver. Where they lose 99% of the time.

pretty sure the Celts and Bruins both lost home Game 7s this winter. That was pretty bad.

For me, it was

(A) Grady/Pedro 2003
(1A) Giants SB
(B) AFCCG 2007 INDY
(C) Aforementioned Celts / Bruins Home Game 7 Losses Same Day

October 11th,2009...a day that will live in INFAMY!!!!

the Bucky Dent day was far worse than today...believe me

I agree, losing SB 42 was the rock bottom of my sports fanhood. Sad part is, even if we win another SB, it still will not remove that sting.

Please tell me this thread was started by someone who's not 18 yet.

Reggie Lewis/Len Bias deaths ring a bell, for crying out loud?

Teams lost games today, not lives.

My point is that the OP and everyone who entertains his line of thought needs to be tranquilized.

Taking into account that the person who asked this question clearly intended it to be a "between the lines" conversation, I can't believe how many Johnny-Come-Lately's there are to the Boston sports scene. The fact that no one has yet mentioned Bill Buckner proves that.

2 run lead, 1 out away from a World Series, no one on base. It really just doesn't get any more devastating than that.

Us losing in the Super Bowl in 07 will forever be the worst day in Boston sports history.

Baseball is the most boring god awful sport to watch and I will never understand peoples frenzied obsession with it and the red sox.
Truth be told I am glad the red sox lost. I am sick of the lovefest they get 24/7 That is all people talk about on the sports radio stations is the red sox. It never ends.
