Assuming everyone is healthy, the only opening on the offense

is for a blocking tight end.

On defense, the Pats need to draft at least two cornerbacks and

two linebackers.

2. Sammy Morris's injury at RB
His injury was serious and with RB being so deep in talent. It's not impossible they wont look that way in the 3rd round if the value is too good to pass up on.

His injury might have been severe, but--from what I've read--it's not one that should have any impact on his play. Yes, it's possible the Pats will draft a RB, but the injury won't be the primary factor.

3. Our TE situation
We are not set at this position by any means. Watson is the ONLY starter we could count on being ready. Thomas as talented a pass receiver he is has been snake bit since coming into the league and you can't count on him for sure. Plus, we need a blocking TE to replace Brady so we don't have to use another tackle and limit our offensive sets when he's in. Again that would be a value pick.

That's true if you include "being behind two first-round draft picks on the depth chart" as "snake bit." He played in 15 of 16 regular-season games (a lot of ST) his rookie season.

I can see us using a day one pick on an OL and picking up a blocking TE in the 2nd round. Of course if a player at RB or WR drops that BB has rated highly, I see no reason why we shouldn't snap him up.

That said, I think #7 (if we keep it), the 2nd rounder and one of the 3rds are used (in no particular order) on 1 LB and 2 DBs.

• What are the performance evaluations of all offensive players?

• What is the contract situation of each O player?

• What is the health/injury status of each O player?

• Who are the highest ranked offensive prospects on the Pats board?

• Being that BB drafts for VALUE, and not necessarily the fans perceived needs, what are the chances he takes an offensive player or two to address all TEAM CONCERNS?

The cornerbacks on the Pats include: Hobbs, Nixon, Richardson, Spann,
and Webster.

The linebacking corps includes: Alexander, Izzo, and Bruschi at inside
linebacker plus Slaughter, Thomas, Vrabel, and Woods at outside
linebacker.

The Pats need an infusion of young talent at linebacker and cornerback
with only eight draft picks to do so. If any high picks are used on
offense, the Pats will lose the opportunity to improve the defense
where the need is more critical.
