Do the Jets have any incentive next week against the Pins?

- If they win and Pats lose, do the Jets win the division tied with Mia at 10-6?

- if they win and Pats win, can they still get in as a wild card (eg if Balt loses to JAX)?

Great win by Seahawks. This one's over. But I'm worried about the Jets' motivation next week against the Phins if they don't have any chance to get in.

If they win and the Pats lose, they win the division. They would still have a better division record. They would be 5-1 and the Pats and Dolphins would be 3-3. Plus the Jets would have swept the Dolphins.

My understanding is the Jets can only get in if they win the division. Wild Card is out of the question, so they have to win against the Dolphins and hope the Pats lose. Can anyone confirm this?

Edit: thanks Rob.

So it's a good thing JP Losman messed up last week, or else Jets would have had nothing to play for against Miami.

Yeah, but would they win a tiebreaker against the Phins? With all 3 teams at 10-6, who wins the division?

They would have swept the Fins if they beat them next week, clear tiebreak win there.

I fixed it. Yes. They would win the tiebreaker against the Dolphins and Pats in a three way tie.

Jests have a better division record so they would win if we were all 10-6.

Jets by virtue of their 5-1 division record.
Then Miami at 3-3
then Pats at 3-3 (lose conference tie breaker to Miami)
Then Bills at 1-5

As of right now, the Pats/Bills and Jets/Phins games are on at the same time, and I don't think there is a Sunday night game, so Mangini can't 'throw' the game.

Awesome. I think we have at least a 50-50 shot next week at winning the division. We have to get by Buffalo, which is no gimme. But the Jets, with a realistic chance at the division on the line, really should beat Miami at home.

Is our game and the Jets-Miami game both 1:00 games next week?

Another thing to consider: Mangini will be coaching for his job.

It will be Favre's last game.

The Jets get in with a win and a Patriot loss.

If the Bills show up again next week the way they showed up today in Denver, the Jets will play believing the Patriots will have their hands full.

And the Patriots just may have their hands full next week.

All games are 1pm on Sunday except for games at SF, SD, and AZ

Jax @ Bal, Mia @ Jests, & NE @ Buf are all 1:00 games, w/ only 1 CBS 4:00 game, and both networks have doubleheader.

Can CBS move any of those games to 4:00 - in good conscience? Or NBC snag the Mia Jests game, as most are predicting? Should be league rule AGAINST moving any of them.

The Jets or the Giants game will be moved. Both NY teams cannot play at the same time per league rules.

Mangina cant throw the game cause his job is on the line lol

a big THANK YOU!

Yes...Mangini throws the game.. and he's curtains there....

Also lets not forget Chad Pennington is the QB for the Miami Dolphins. Jets cut him and got nothing in return (it was not a trade). Pennington ends the season ahead of Farve doesn't look like such a good move to give up a pick for Favre.

Yes, but does anyone think Favre has one more good game left in him?
