Charlie Weis was at practice earlier this week and probably asked Belichick for a favor. A workout with New England will be noticed by other teams. I imagine the Green Beans' marionette duo of Rex and Woody will cut Geno Smith and sign Quinn just to keep Belichick from getting him.

Some idle speculation:

Jimmy G is playing as you would expect a low level college rookie QB to play. It is obvious that he isn't ready, and it will take a few years of grooming before he can step up to the NFL level.

Quinn is still probably the second most successful QB from the 2007 draft. I think Tyler Thigpen and Jordan Palmer are the only QB's from that draft still in the league.

Belichick replaced 49 players on a 53 man roster over the past 5 seasons and made it to a Super Bowl and 3 AFCC games in the process, teams simply don't do that during a rebuild and only an idiot would think he is "losing it."
