I hope it is real cold next Sunday.......

Good weather or bad weather.... I am sure there will be doubt in his head
after his performance in December in Foxboro and his shaky performance
    in Indy last week.

The extended forcast for Sunday has a high temp of 31f and a low of
    21f.

6 to 10 Day Extended Weather Forecast for Foxboro -weather.com

2009 - Sanchez had a touchdown to interception ratio of 3 touchdown and
13 interceptions in 2009 with temp less than 50-f.

Sanchez had a good/not great playoff game aginst the Bengals in the cold.
New York Jets 24 at Cincinnati Bengals 14 - Saturday, January 9, 2010
Weather: 19 degrees, relative humidity 82%, wind 9 mph, wind chill 8
    Sanchez - 12-15 182 yards - 1 TD.

He played his other two playoff games in Sandiego and Indy which
    weather was not a issue.

    Regular season games - 2009

Atlanta Falcons 10 at New York Jets 7 - Sunday, December 20, 2009
Weather: 27 degrees, relative humidity 62%, wind 21 mph, wind chill 13
    Sanchez - 18-32 - 226 yards - 1 - TD - 3 INT

New York Jets 14 at New England Patriots 31 - Sunday, November 22, 2009
Weather: 47 degrees, relative humidity 69%, wind 11 mph
    Sanchez -8-21 - 136 yards - 1 TD - 4 INT

Carolina Panthers 6 at New York Jets 17 - Sunday, November 29, 2009
Weather: 48 degrees, relative humidity 50%, wind 10 mph
    Sanchez - 13-17 - 154 yards - 1 INT

Buffalo Bills 16 at New York Jets 13 - Sunday, October 18, 2009
Weather: 46 degrees, relative humidity 73%, wind 17 mph
    Sanchez - 10-29 - 119 yards - 5 INT

Football Reference does not have the temps listed for 2010 yet.
Here are the games that were probably in cold weather.

In four games Sanchez played in cold weather cities in December 2010
he has a 1 touchdown and 5 interceptions.

New York Jets 34 at Chicago Bears 38 - Sunday, December 26, 2010
    Sanchez - 24-37 - 269 yards - 1 TD - 1 int.

New York Jets 22 at Pittsburgh Steelers 17 - Sunday, December 19, 2010
    Sanchez - 19-29 yards

Miami Dolphins 10 at New York Jets 6 - Sunday, December 12, 2010
    Sanchez - 17 - 44 - 216 yards - 1 int

New York Jets 3 at New England Patriots 45 - Monday, December 6, 2010
    Sanchez - 17-33 - 164 yards - 3 int

The game will be played after dark, so the temps should be in the 20's.

    Bring on the cold......

According to one of the Jets forums, Sanchez hates being inside a dome because the perfect conditions ruin his throws.

If we lose this game I am going to go into hiding for a few months.

Hates the cold? These guys play in New York, outside, cold weather, I don't think that is going to have much of an affect.

I think its overblown. He played real well in Chicago and Pittsburgh and it was pretty cold.

Bottom line is Sanchez still has not proven he can win (or play well for that matter) in Foxboro :bricks:

I wouldnt describe his play as "Real Well", he didnt poop his pants, but not sure he has ever played "Real Well" as defined by say a Tom Brady standard.

I'm not sure if it's cold weather, but you have to acknowledge the psychological hell that Sanchez will find in Foxboro. Over their careers, certain quarterbacks struggle in certain places. Manning, while he seemingly got the Pats off the back of his overall legacy, still is a liability coming to Foxboro. Brady is bound to have his worst game in Denver. Flacco struggles in Pittsburgh. The atmosphere, combined with defenses, can make certain places hell for certain QBs.

Sanchez is not a good quarterback anyway. In fact, he kind of sucks, kind of really bad.

And looking at his career stats in NE, I'm not sure if the weather really matters. This is kind of like watching Brady in Denver, but x100; you know something horrible is going to happen, but you're just not sure when.

    25-54, 300 yards, 1 TD, 7 INTs

Now, considering just how pathetic Sanchez was against the Colts, it's fair to say that him putting up a good game on Sunday is unlikely. And it may take a great game, not just a good one, to keep the Jets close.

He threw for 269 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT in the Chicago game and 170 yards with zero TDs in the Pittsburgh game. He had a passer rating over 100 in both games but I wouldn't call that playing real well.

Sanchez is a bad QB for sure, he still stares down his receivers on many plays. But I do think the Cold weather effects him still, he will get better in the cold with time but still you can see it doesnt sit well with him

Thing is with Sanchez is the play calling given to him on throwing downs.

Slant, Slant, Slant, Seem to Keller, Deep to Edwards, Roll out occasionally.

He is easy to stop and confuse!

    Nope.

    12/19 @ PIT W 22-17 19 29 65.5 170 5.9 0 0 81.1
    12/26 @ CHI L 34-38 24 37 64.9 269 7.3 1 1 84.2

Since the Jets' bye week, Sanchez has had one week with a rating of 90+ and that was against Houston. And in that game his rating (100.2) was actually below the rating given up by the Texans over the season (100.5). Over the same period, the only game Brady had below 100 was the Cleveland disaster...and even then he pulled off a 90.5.

The biggest issue isn't the cold (though it should be a factor). The biggest issue for Sanchez is his scattershot arm and the effect it has on Jets' drives. Since their bye week, the Jets have played 5 playoff teams going 2-3. In all they have had 53 meaningful drives in those games and scored 6 offensive TDs (11%). To get those 42 points, it took the Jets 53 plays and 27 first downs to cover 403 yards. Remember those stats aren't for a game. They are over 5 games and 53 drives.

The Jets in general (and Sanchez specifically) just aren't efficient enough to beat good teams with their offense. The game for the Jets comes down to stealing possessions from the Pats with their defense and special teams. If the Pats get 10+ legit possessions and don't turn the ball over, it will be a long day for the Jets.

My bad. The box score I found didn't have the passer rating, so I used an online calculator that was, err, not correct I guess.

    That makes more sense.

You need a degree from MIT to figure out QB ratings.
