    We kept him over Stevenson, so there's that to think about.

    How so?

    IIRC, Stevenson was on Miami's practice squad when Barthelmes was signed to the Pats. Of course, both Barthelmes and Stevenson were cut back in August.

    Weren't they cut/signed within a week of each other?

    EDIT: Within a day!

    November 7, 2006 Claimed safety Rashad Baker off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings; released cornerback Antwain Spann and guard Dan Stevenson.
    November 8, 2006 Re-signed cornerback Antwain Spann and center Brian Barthelmes to the practice squad.

    December 21, 2006 Elevated guard Dan Stevenson to 53-man roster
