    The weak dollar strategy was started under Bush and helped make it cheaper for foreigners to buy our goods and support our economy. During the Bush years, economists speculated that this approach would eventually lead to imbalances (where we were selling more goods than we should because of the cheap dollar) that would provoke an international backlash. Maybe that will come to pass. I'd like to see the strong dollar again, because I enjoy traveling to Europe and with the dollar the way it has been for the last 6 or so years, Europe has been a very expensive destination.
