In Rhode Island the current unemployment rate is 8.8% with a Republican Governor.. go figure.. that is the highest in the nation right now.. higher than Michigan.

The real root of the problem is that when Reagan handed out his largest tax cuts in history for the wealthy, he didn't bother to cut federal spending, starting the downward debt spiral.

If the GOP had no intentions of lowering spending, they were foolish to lower taxes and create debt conditions.

Dot boom , please , wait until you see the real boom. A boom ,you ve never heard of , thanks to our last 8 years of conservative spending.

Doodoo Boom , not dot boom.

This always gets me laughing. Whenever a Republican doesn't want to give Clinton credit for the great economic times during his presidency, they bring up the tech bubble, the Dot boom.
So, when the country was rejoicing in riches during Clinton's presidency, and all the states which had 'Silicone Valley's' (Austin, Texas ) were going over the top on an even larger scale due to the tech bubble, how is it that during this time period, Bush nearly bankrupts Texas. In movies, they call it foreshadowing.

Don't you get it? Anything disastrous in the economy is Clinton's or even Carter's fault, anything good that happens is all Reagan.

You can't fix a drinking problem with more booze.

The problem is that on a GLOBAL basis the system is flooded with too much debt for the capital formation capacity that exists. You can only correct this imbalance by removing the liqudidity and forcing that excess debt to default.

This has been going on since the 1980s, which is why every crisis has been more severe since the 87 crash and has "required" more outrageous interventions to "fix".

There is no fix for the crisis that involves more liquidity.

Actually, Bush created LOTS of jobs - - just ask the good folks at Kellogg, Brown and Root or Halliburton or Blackwater.

If it weren't for those lousy Dems, he would have created lots more for Dubai Ports World. Unfortunately, those lousy Dems put "Country First".
