Buffalo not messing around...Super Mario & Meachem expected Bills announcement

I still don't get when Meachum became a top WR in free agency.

well...some fantasy geeks were walking past the NFL Super Parrot cage and were overheard gushing about how Meachem helped their team win the big fantasy league...in Wackamo Falls Wisconsin...the rest is history

There are falls in Wisconsin? The parts I have seen were really flat.

I don't think Meachum can't be a good deep specialist or possibly even a #2 WR. But people are starting to act like the guy is Vincent Jackson. He was like 6th or 7th on my list of WRs I wanted the Pats to target because I didn't think he could be more than a #3 WR on this team and would cost too much.

As for Williams, he is leaving Buffalo without a contract. Odds are not good that he will be back. Typically if a player leaves a team's facilities, he isn't coming back. Every potential suitor now knows what the Bills are offering and if Williams is visiting them, they are at least willing to consider matching or beating the offer.
We are in agreement but signing Meachem will provide some semblance of structure for the Bills Offense. It's not a signing that bothers me in the slightest. The beard isn't Drew Brees nor does he have his ability and control of the offense.

I'll be surprised if mario does indeed sign with the bills, I'm not however in any way shape or form surprised that we didn't get him. His salary (15 mil per year) I think, just would not have worked with our cap room. I'm still not scared of the bills one bit, once they get a real QB I'll consider them a threat.

heh heh...YEAH, true story, bro!!..they are right next to Frostbite Falls...

Here it comes Mario to the Patriots!
That's why we haven't made any signings yet we were getting our ducks in a row.
Tomorrow I expect Super Mario and Brandon Lloyd to be pats, and I will dance in the streets!

OK!!..break a leg!!!

I promised my wife that I'd dance in the streets (here in Pittsburgh) if we won the SB this yr...so that can't be a very good omen.

I can dream he's on my Madden roster lol
Unstoppable beast I've had Lloyd on the Madden roster for weeks and I grabbed Landry who's still a free agent right now.

Mario is going to get 100 million from somebody. I bet he's hoping for a better team/city to offer it though, like Dallas or Chicago.

Truly not trying to bust your b@lls but comments like that crack me up. I see:

If Bill Bellichick (the architect of a dynasty) does something totally out of character and inconsistent with the way he has run the team for 12 years, I will be so excited I will dance in the streets.

Is the need for instant gratification in Free Agency so great that we even hope that BB will copy less successful teams to get it at the expense of success on the field?

If BB see's him as another Taylor, Lawrence not Jason he may just break the bank and would you be truly shocked if he'd come to a consistent superbowl threat vs a also ran for 3 million a year less for Lombardis and a shot at greatness with BB coaching him.

Still have my fingers crossed.

One thing you guys should understand about Buffalo is that, if they get Mario Williams, they could have the best d-line in football all of a sudden. We'll have Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus, and Mario Williams. THAT'S a nasty line. We'll probably have Kelsay in the other DE spot. Our depth is not bad, either.

Kyle Williams, who played in the Pro Bowl the previous year, was playing for a long time with a bone-spur in his ankle...he finally got that taken care of after going on IR for it in week 5 last year. This left the #3 overall rookie Dareus all alone without much help, and he still did a very good job taking on double teams all year.

Now you add back Kyle Williams and Mario Williams (the Williams brothers) to Dareus, who gained valuable experience last year, and offenses will have serious problems dealing with that. Bad things, man...this will help our secondary better too, as they were not helped by any semblence of a pass rush last year.

As far as Fitzpatrick goes, he cracked some ribs against Washington in week 8 last year when the Bills were 5-2, both of those losses being 3-point nail-biters against eventual playoff teams, including the Super Bowl champs. Whether the cracked ribs is an excuse or an explanation remains to be seen, but Fitz never used it as an excuse. The Bills offense was very effective the first half of the season, though. Coincidence? Dunno. Perhaps other teams figured out the Bills scheme and shut them down that way, which is also a very real possibility.

Meachem is an upgrade too, make no mistake. We re-signed Stevie Johnson already. We should have a two-headed monster at RB.

You guys should respect the fact that the Patriots, not even THAT long ago, were perceived much as the Bills are today...as an afterthought. Things change, don't they? As long as the Dolphins don't get Peyton Manning, I feel that 2nd place in the division is a realistic expectation for the Bills this year at this point...but a lot else will happen before opening day.

The Bills were hit hard with injuries last year, too. More than most...key guys that we'll get back. The KEY to beating the Patriots is putting pressure on Tom Brady...that's already been established and documented. One-on-one, I'm not sure you can take our Pats-Bills match-ups for granted as wins anymore. We beat you once last year and were up 21-0 before you guys brought the hammer down in a big way in the second game.

Williams left without signing and Meachem signed a four year deal with the Chargers.

It would be torture for Bills fans if they missed out on Mario as well after seemingly being so close to both. Their dream start to FA looks like it could be quickly turning into a nightmare. I do feel sorry for them though, I would rather them be the #2 team in the AFCE than the Jest or Phins

Hey!!!...Mario!!! You're gonna LOVE IT up here in Buffalo!!! ...Mario??? MARIO???????

I don't feel sorry for them, at least not personally.

I couldn't care less if the Fins or Bills came in at number 2, as long as we're number 1, and the NYJ are as least 3rd.

Everyone get all hyped about the 'big name' FA's most years the Redskins and Jets win the Off season SB....

How's that working out for them again>

Slow and steady (especially steady) Wins the race. BB knows how to construct a roster, the results prove it.

I love it! Buffalo wined and dined Meachem and then he leaves and immediately signs with San Diego.

They'll be needing fireball Mario to melt that snow.

Or at least Mushroom Mario to make himself slightly larger.

Propeller Mario would also work in this case, barring any immediate apperances by Yoshii the flying lizard, that is.
