Sad to see Brooks leaving TB as he has been a great player there for so long

Wonder if Cato might be worth a look for the Pats,He was not very good in TB but was excellent as an ILB in Indy

Its looking very obvious that Tampa Bay is deep into the rebuilding mode and wanting to get younger.

Tampa Bay is now $67 - $70 million under the cap. I wonder what their plan is now?

  • multiple big $ free agents/trades (Haynesworth, Suggs, Scott - and Cassel)
  • re-sign these players to smaller contracts
  • new regime; look to build for 2010
  • profit over winning; a return to the pre-salary cap days for Tampa Bay, with more of the same in the uncapped 2010 season that has no minimum spending floor

EDIT: First question of the press conference was would any of these players come back with lower contracts, and the answer was no - so eliminate option B.

The Bucs are now basically an expansion team with a good offensive line.

Whoever the new coach is must love having that much money to bring his guys in.
