Bruschi stroke: is it worth it???

would like some feedback here. the guy had a hole in his heart and a stroke. is it worth coming back to play???? whats he got to prove??? is it worth risking his life for??? I know how much you fans think of him him. I say if hes financially set pack it in. just not worth the risk. plus this CAN come back to haunt him later in life. I know his father in law tried to talk him out of it but im surprised his wife went along with it. ?????

His doctors cleared him.He isnt risking his life.If he felt like he was,he wouldnt be playing.

The guy lives for football.If he wouldnt have come back, he would have spent the rest of his life wondering "what if".

I was concerned about Tedy's safety on the field when he came back. We all were. When I heard him say, in such a heartfelt way, that football is his job, his life, I decided that he knows what he's doing, and, sounds like, he doesn't want to live without football, at least not yet. He has my blessing, FWIW.

I think your impressions of him being in a life threatening situation are just totally wrong. Every doctor found disagrees. Therefore the questions in your post arent relevant

I've never heard that playing football has ever caused a stroke. I thought I read that it was always a question of him recovering enough from the damage that the stroke inflicted to be able to play. It's pretty obvious he did.

There is no greater risk for a stroke playing football than there is sitting on your couch. A stroke IS life threatening, but playing football doesn't make a stroke more likely. Like others have said, he went to many doctors and it was unanimous that he could return to football.

those around and close to him have voiced their concerns. hopefully this is not a problem now. but i know people who regretted their decesion later in life. im more concerned about his and anybodys future with something like this.

no of course not. but i have seen people have long term side effects from strokes or heart problems. AND THEY DONT PLAY FOOTBALL. I just hope football dosent aggravate it.

From everything I have read, no one identified a cause of the heart attack.....football related or otherwise.

Tedy did not have a heart attack and had lived with those holes in his heart his whole life.

thanks for the concern, but this topic has been put to bed. Bru is back and hasnt had any setbacks besides a darn calf strain.
he is getting closer every day to playing to his old form after missing the first half of the season (counting training camp as part of the season).
