From the link in the OP:

Its one thing to not be aware of other people's religious practices; but to actually be Catholic (or probably at least raised that way) and not know what's up with the ash mark on Joe's forehead? That's pretty dumb.

Well, for starters, if it was Ash Wednesday they'd probably speculate that he'd turned Catholic.

What they'd do is trash the hell out of him because he was a christian.

Harry, you already stipulated that he was a "christian" when you said he was a Baptist.

Besides, most Catholics don't really call themselves themselves "Christians," do they? Nor does anyone else, for that matter. John Kennedy was never reported to be the "first christian president." He was the "first Catholic president." There's a reason for the distinction. There was then and there is now.

    Catholics don't proselytize, Christians do.

What does proselytize mean and I'll tell you if they do or not.....:)

Windbag Biden is the first catholic I've seen with ashes on their head in years, I didn't know they still did that, I give him credit for having the courage to let the Loony Liberals see him like that, I'd love to hear what Mush Mouth Matthews and Al Franken had to say about it behind closed doors...................:singing:

Yes, she is. But at least her "god" is real, even if it isn't a god. Worshiping a peanut butter sandwich is as effective and legitimate as worshipping anything else. But everyone's entitled to their own private nuttiness. Santa knows, I have mine.

You just can't let people of faith go can you? Why does someone else's belief in someting bigger, bother you so much? Why do you feel the need to constantly insult the beliefs of others? I know, I know, you're not insulting anyone, or you didn't say anything bad at all. My bad.

    Real,
This is a political forum. I didn't bring up the God crap. Someone else did. This is a thread about religion, fakrissakes! So when we're talking about religion I should just stay out of it? It matters when public figures wear their religion on their sleeves. Why don't you ever beeyoth about Harry when he slams Muslims? That's different because he has a Christian background.

And while we're at it, why does my religious position bother YOU so much? I have as much right to state my position as a blathering bible thumper does.

    Get over it.

It's not specific people that you slam. It's their belief system. You constantly insult the faith that people choose to believe in. As for HB, I don't take much of what he posts seriously, and in all honesty (no offense HB) I usually skip right over all of his posts. I do that with certain people in here. Anyhow, I would think that a libertarian would respect a persons free right to believe in whatever faith they decide to follow, as opposed to insulting at every opportunity possible. It's one thing to offer an opinion about someone's faith, and another to go out of your way to constantly insult it.

    In other words:

What I believe in is important to me, so don't scrutinize it. What matters to you doesn't mean schit to me though, so I'll attack it as much as I want to.
