Why would Manning even want to go to Denver. They have an ok defense and crap at receiver. Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker are both good but when you compare what he would have in Miami (Marshall) and Arizona (Fitzgerald) then you would take those two over anything in Denver in a heartbeat. Bush is a better back than McGahee right now and Marshall is better than any receiver the Broncos have. The same goes for Larry Fitzgerald in Arizona and Chris Wells is also better than McGahee. Denver makes no sense for Peyton Manning and Miami is the best fit. Just because Denver will do "whatever it takes" doesn't mean he'll go there plus he wants to play for a warm weather team and Denver does not fall into that category. Even if he is the starter he won't be the most popular quarterback on the team, which will irk him. Peyton Manning loves to be the MAIN guy and center of attention.

The more I analyze the more certain it looks he will go to a team with a DOME! I say he will play for Arizona.

Not saying Denver has a great defense, but it could make a difference if you don't have a Tebow-led offense going 3 and out half the time.

Assuming he stays in the AFC, that's pretty much the best case scenario for the Pats. He could make the Chiefs or Dolphins a dangerous team. Not so much with the Broncos.

Yes, very risky move by the Broncos. After all, they may try as hard they want to get him, but if he doesn't go there....then they'll be left with a QB that the whole world knows they don't want.

That's going to be true of every team that pursues him except one.

Seriously. What team in their right mind that needs a QB or even thinks they need a QB to give them a legitimate shot at a SB wouldn't make a bid for Peyton?

What? Don't you think Tebow knows Elway wants to find a real QB?

If you think about it, Tebow would probably make one heck of TE or HB with Manning dumping it off to him.

    Disable Jersey

Denver's defense allowed fewer PPG with Tebow under center than with Orton under center.

The Broncos had a pretty good defense for most of the year. They have a very good running game. And Thomas and Decker are good, plus they would have the ability to add Wayne, who would likely come with Manning. That would make for a pretty dangerous team.

I'm not saying he'll go there or that he *should* go there. I'm just saying that I could see why he would.

Personally, I still think Miami and Arizona are the favorites, for the reasons you gave, and more.

That's already been painfully obvious all this past year.

Am I the only one who sees some indecent haste in the way PM is looking for a new team, forcing the market to make a decision in a few days that could have major repercussions both now and in the long term for any team that makes an offer? I mean wouldn't most teams looking at bringing Peyton in want to check the car facts thoroughly first? It's almost like the dealer wants to get the car off the lot as fast as possible before the faults are discovered.

The thought was triggered by a comment on a morning ESPN session yesterday when one of the panel asked the others if they thought Peyton could have hired a better video production crew than the singleton behind the cell phone video of his throwing practices. The lack of definition and depth gives no indication of accuracy or distance. Nothing more was made of the comment and I more or less forgot about it until PM started his whirlwind tour of QB-challenged franchises. Then when he stated that he wanted to pick his new team as early as possible next week it seemed like he was whipping up the buying frenzy so that haste to secure his services would overcome caution about his current and future physical soundness.

Going back to the ESPN show for a second, the other thing that struck me was that both Marcellus Wylie and John Bayless II unhesitatingly assumed that he would fully recover from his injury and surgeries, yet the major problem has been his ability to regenerate nerve tissue - a problem that his brother, Cooper, was unable to overcome eventually retiring from playing football.

But then I would expect these things to be reported, analyzed and synthesized in the car facts, if there was time to obtain and digest.

Apologies for what may appear as cynicism but somehow it all doesn't quite sit right.

From what I've heard, Manning wants to sign before free agency because he understands that a lot of money will be involved and he doesn't want teams sitting there holding on to their cap space waiting for his decision while free agents are being snatched up.

With Tebow, they KNEW they had to step up. With Orton, there was a sense of complacency in that defense.

EDIT: I'd much rather see this than a potentially healthy Manning throwing to Marshall, Reggie Wayne, Devone Bess, and Co.

Tim Tebow, Kevin Kolb, Mark Sanchez, Matt Moore, Matt Flynn, 3 firsts and a second, Peyton Manning at 36 and potentially not 100%...let me think... Nevermind, it's only money.

Any excuse to get rid of Tebow as QB. Maybe they figure the moron fan base won't revolt as much if the replace Jesus Tebow with The Forehead.

It would be a savvy move on elway's part. I would love it if this played out and somehow tebow lands in Jabba...erm....Rex' lap.
