Tired of a bunch of negative, sky is falling threads. Figure look at one of the bright spots of the game.

One thing you could really be excited about this game going forward in the future was the play of Brandon Spikes. The guy was everywhere making plays. I thought out of every defensive player on either team, he might have been the most consistent player.

Too bad his effort was in a loss, but I think he and Mayo manning the middle of the LB corp will be a strong point of this defense for several years. Definitely a good set of building blocks to build around.

dude played his ass off today, big props. Sterling Moore gave himself a job next year as well, matter of fact the entire secondary played pretty well.

Spikes cracked Bradshaw
Chung cracked Nicks

loved those two plays

yeah, and I think this year he's just gotten rolling, so hopefully a good looking future from some young players there -- we should get dowling back next year, and have 4 picks in the top 2 rounds.

disappointing game, but a great year.
I have to say I feel a lot better about the way we finished this year than the past 5.

Brandon Spikes, Jerod Mayo, Vince Wilfork, Andre Carter, Sterling Moore, YAY for 2012.

Pat Chung, Rob Ninkovich, Devin Mccourty, Brandon Deaderick, Kyle Love, Kyle Arrington, Mark Anderson, this group needs to step up next year.

James Ihedigbo, Antwan Molden, Tracy White, Boo.

I love Spikes. 55 and 51 should be good in the middle, Nink is good enough. We need another OLB, starting Safety, backup Safety and re-sign Carter and we should be OK. McCourtey, Dowling, Moore, Arrington could be good enough with better Safety play.

anyone see Mayo whiff on that first TD by the Giants?

The play was designed for him to pick that pass off.

I agree, Sterling Moore is shaping up to be a solid CB. He's come up with big plays in two of the biggest games of the year.

I disagree with some of this. I think Deadrick and Ninkovich played above their expectations.

I also think Anderson has been far better than people expected. He has been far better vs. the run than I expected since I thought he was purely a pass rush specialist and he has been decent vs. the run of late.

I think you are expecting too much out of some of these players.

Chung was even better and it was great to see Moore as well...starting to see something for the future in that D

I like Anderson as a 4-3 DE and even a rush LB in the 3-4, it's just tough to project him and Carter without knowing the defense we'll be in predominantly next year. Still, the DBs are looking better if Dowling can stay healthy and if we can get one more starting caliber Safety.

I ment it more in a positive light, those players played very well this year. If they step up and play like they did this year (scratch Mccourty lol) we'll be set. For all the grief the defense gets, they have a good amount of quality players, young too.

Sorry,I guess I misunderstood what you were talking about.

I do agree that this defense is heading in the right direction. I think they will add a few pieces in free agency and the draft. They may be significantly better next year.

Spikes wasn't perfect but he played with emotion and especially leadership which bodes so well for the future. He played his heart out and was trying to look for the strip all game long. Pity the Patriots couldn't have the ball bounce their way when he did eventually manage to hit the ball loose.
His instincts in the pass game are pretty good so if he develops into a three down player, he will be another home run from the second round of the 2010 draft.

Mark Anderson also did a good job and would like to see him come back next year.

People complain about not having big-impact players on this defense and i wonder what they are thinking. This is only his 2nd year in the pros and look at the way he played while he was playing. He is a beast.

So he missed on One play  Cut him Cut him Now

As to the play being Designed for him to pick that pass off. You mean the giants were implementing plays for a LB on the opposing team.....Link please

Spikes and Moore really impressed me. Moore made several plays and Spikes seemed to be involved in every tackle.

Spikes is a good looking young player.....as long as he avoids the off the field stuff,he has the intangibles to be a great ILB for years.
