Re: Brady and Moss are UFA after 2010 so . . .

I am shocked at how many get rid of TFB posts are on here. He is a special quarterback. You do not get rid of guys like him.

You have a good young secondary and a very good D line, you need a pass rush specialist. TBC isn't the answer.

I am honestly readin gmore posts about the number of trade brady posts, than actual trade brady posts.

I saw many on game day, but they were from people with 14 posts, and obvious trolls.

Out of the regulars here, no one is mentioning it that I see.

Re: Brady and Moss are UFA after 2010 so . . .

This Thread reeks of spoiled fans that can't take losing and that is sad.

Keep Brady and let Moss play thru 2010. Moss is starting to slip and
not worth much in a trade. Brady may be having an off year but
should rebound.

Having said this, I would not be surprised to see Belichick trade Brady
for several draft picks. This team is coming apart and in need of an
infusion of young talent. Neal, Watson, Bodden, Green, Thomas, and
Wilfork may have to be replaced and a couple of pass rushers are
needed. Don't be surprised if two rounds pass without drafting a rusher.

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think the Patriots will be major
players in free agency. They will hold the purse strings tight in
free agency ever with their own players. A few second and third
tier free agents to fill out the 80 man roster.

Why would the Patriots trade Brady to get several draft picks? If we trade Brady then we have an issue at QB. QB is the most important position on the field, if we dont have a good QB, we're definitely not going to be sucessful. Brady will finish his career as a Patriot.

I can't believe some of these posts here.

Why does anyone have to choose between keeping 2 great future HOF players?

Trade Tom Brady and return back to mediocrity of the late 80s & early 90s.

And this theory about Randy Moss losing it?

Doesn't anyone here realize he is currently LEADING the league in YARDS, and is tied for SECOND in TDs with 9?

Where is this so-called IMAGINARY decline that everyone sees?

WRs, unless injured, don't usually go into decline until age 35 and beyond.

Randy will be 33 in February, if he can avoid the injury bug, he still has 2-3 PRIME years before age finally catches up to him, and even then he would be good for 5-10 TDs a year and a quality 2nd guy after age 35.

What this team DESPERATELY need is a THIRD wide receiver! Belichick is to blame for this as he bombed on Joey Galloway AND Greg Lewis. Edelman is a rookie and injured. And Tate is injured. Aiken does not get enough touches to qualify as a 3rd receiver. And where in the hell has BENJAMIN WATSON.....he was a factor early in the season, and now he has TOTALLY DISAPPEARED!

Get a quality 3rd receiver in FA next offseason, and I think our offense returns back to almost 2007 levels.....Brady is too overly dependent on Wes Welker....for what reason Randy is being used as a decoy the past few weeks I don't know why....but Randy needs to be involved the ENTIRE game, not just a quarter or two, then play the DECOY for Welker the rest of the game!

keep 'em both

brady is here for I'd say another 3-4 years.

try to keep moss without too many guanrantees. he will stay if he feels wanted.

you still need to develop some young WR's .... the pats depend too much on welker and moss

Wow really? I think Brady is a Patriot for at least another 7-8 he will retire a Pat unless a Joe Montana situation arises.

The real good QB's don't go anywhere.

I could see Brady leaving before his playing days are behind him. I could see him retiring early if he gets the 4th or 5th ring.

Welker is receiving catches that a quality 3rd wide receiver would get if he was here.

Welker is averaging 9.5 catches a game, which is WAY too many for any wide receiver....they are too dependent on him because there is no real 3rd option besides Faulk or Aiken or the invisible Benjamin Watson!

In 2007 with our record setting offense, we had Donte Stallworth as a 3rd WR with 46 catches and Jabar Gaffney with 36 catches. This season, we have Edelman and Aiken with 43 catches total through 12 games. Which will translate to 57 catches total at the end of the regular season at this pace.

Also Stallworth was a home-run threat and Gaffney was an intermediate to long-ball threat as well and teams had to respect that. Edelman is strictly a short-range possession WR, and Aiken just doesn't get enough opportunities for teams to worry about.

Moss is not going to fetch much, maybe a 2nd rounder. Brady would get a pile.

#12 is my favorite football player of all time but the NFL is a cold hard business. If we are going to see more of the same, amateur coordinators, average talent on defense then I would be ok with blowing it up. Thank him for a job well done and move on.

Trade Brady to SF for Alex Smith, Patrick Willis and two 1st round picks.

2010 - Two 1st round picks
2011 - Three 1st round picks

Plus a whole lot of tears in the beer.

San Fran would be crazy to give up Alex Smith ;)

No, you're totally right. Some people around here have gone kinda crazy, and have had it in their heads for quite a while that the "Belichick Way" means getting rid of players just for the sake of getting rid of them. You know how it is - if someone has a generally rational position, then there will always be people out there to misinterpret it and take it out to a completely irrational extreme.

wow, you patsfans are friggin' spoiled.... here i was thinking fin fans are a-holes for how they treat the fins players.

brady has won THREE superbowls and you guys are talking about trading him...wow. the guy has broken record after impressive record and you guys are talking about whether it's smart to keep him or trade him. wow.

moss still cannot be defended appropriately unless he's double covered...in fact, yesterday he sliced through double coverage for a TD and you guys are talking about trading him. wow.

until yesterday, miami's combined receivers had 3 touchdowns ALL season long...and moss has 3 TDs in a game...yeah, trade him.....trade him to miami. we'll give you a 1st rounder.

It really is the most unfortunate side effect of being a fan of a winning team. Bandwagon asshats flock in.

Do you people realize that Tom Brady is a FREE AGENT after the 2010 season? He may be gone even if the Patriots DO want him back. That's the reason this came up, not because he's not great anymore. NOBODY is saying "Trade the bastard! He sucks!" We're just looking at the Eli Manning/Phillip Rivers contracts and raising an eyebrow. What's it gonna take to sign Brady? $20m a year? Oh great.

Let's trade a king for a king's ransom. Patrick Willis, two first-rounders, and a third rounder? Don't care how much you love Tom. That's a slam dunk to trade him. Don't say it isn't.

Keep Brady and get Clausen.

Clausen is our future now........ TFB can groom him for us.

Love TFB..... but after 3-5yr's more he will not be the same.

Love the bling you got us and being such a great QB.... good things come in 3's and you already got us those :)

TFB in his next contract can groom Jimmy Clausen for us. I want TFB back, but w/ a young guy like Clausen ready and waiting (it will preserve) this franchise for the next decade.

If we take Clausen this year then we have to trade Brady. Otherwise he will either leave as an UFA or need to be franchised after the 2010 season.

Are we seriously talking about the Pats getting Jimmy Clausen...

Franchise Tag=:) if it comes to that.

I still would like a 3 yr. deal for TFB

TFB is getting older....... who would be a better mentor than Tommy Three-fingers??????

This thread brings up a huge truth..... and Brady is not getting younger.
