Boston football writers have been awful

Seriously do any of these guys work for their info at all.
Basically Curran tweets every 15 hours reporting on something we knew of the day before.
Breer is similar. Rapaport is probably the hardest working and most interesting.

And poor Reiss, guy was great until he went to espn, now he spends his days writing human interest stories about practice squad players. And writing on events that happened hours earlier

maybe it has to do with every nfl source cell phone has a direct feed to schefter.

But the local writers have been awful this offseason.

-Shalise Manza Young broke the Dean Pees and Shane Waldron stories.

-Albert Breer reported on Pees' health issues from last season.

-Ian Rapoport broke the Vince Wilfork story.

-Ian Rapoport, within minutes of Wilson's story on Boldin, got word back that no deal was imminent.

-Ian Rapoport reported that the Pats were making a "hard push" for Peppers.

-Karen Guregian reported the Pats are in negotiations with Kevin Faulk.

-Mike Reiss broke the Tully Banta-Cain story.

-Mike Reiss has been well connected to the agents for Bodden, Green, and Watson throughout the offseason.

-Chris Price tweeted that Le Kevin was on the Pats' radar. Then Shalise used her sources to say that it was instead the Chiefs interested.

-Chris Price broke the news that the Pats are interested in Antonio Bryant.

-Curran, admittedly, has been on a cold streak ever since his "Brady setback" story.

I personally follow adam shefter twitter account.. But Reiss and Price are solid guys when you want local stuff..

Curran is back as a Boston writer. He left NBC Sports last year for Comcast SportsNet New England. Same with Breer - he left Sporting News for the Globe.

I think the Peppers story was Rapoport, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Banks recently moved to the mid-west somewhere, not that it has any bearing on the discussion.

Sounds like this is a writing columns versus tweeting debate, or more specifically, he who tweets first (or most) wins. So if hearing breaking news first, or lots and lots of speculative updates is what you want, then subscribe to Schefter and Florio's tweets. If you want columns and analysis that are more than three sentences long, check out what SMY, Ian Rappaport, Chris Price, Mike Reiss, Albert Breer and other local writers have to say. It's not really a case of one group being good and the other being bad; it's comparing apples and oranges.

As is often the case lately, these guys are getting a lot of their info from the twittering of the nationals or each other or players or agents. It was LaCanfora, who replaced Schefter at NFLN (although Adam obviously got to retain his personal rolodex...), who broke the Pats and Eagles in on Peppers report. Within minutes of which all the locals were twittering about their "sources" reporting the Pats and Eagles in on Peppers, although Schefter ignored those reports and merely reiterated his belief that Peppers would be a done deal in Chicago probably by Friday afternoon.

And if we're crediting for breaking stories, Vince broke the news of his own deal to twitter nation...
