you're such a gutless, baiting punk... i only wish i could see you face to face, so that i could knock you on your ass for calling me "boy" one too many times...

Bush has already lost his war... By Debaathifying the country, and not supplying his generals with more troops AT FIRST, when it would have made a difference...

Regardless, YOU quantified there were more looney lefties who thought such ridiculousness... Nevermind that its entirely impossible to quantify, or qualify, such a vague statement, you just throw it out there and hope it sticks... there's your agenda...

I do think that there are more loony lefties, currently anyway, that feel that was simply because of the size of the anti-war movement, and the rhetoris being spewed by the more extreme in that category. For example, they just held a rally in Washington with their lead speaker, scumbag extrordiare, Hanoi Jane, who's history speaks for itself. At that very rally, they had people holding this sign:

See, you reinforce my point. Bush has already lost this war....People's hatred of GW, though warranted, clouds their judgement. I couldn't care less about how it goes for GW, all I care about is that we succeed in Iraq. When people talk about the war is lost, yada yada yada, Georege Bush sucks...Iraq, etc... You almost know where they are coming from.

That may have been true, once, but now people from every direction are coming out and agreeing that this war has to stop now and the troops need to be brought home NOW. Pat Buchanan, on Hardball two weeks ago, was asked, "Do we pull out now and let the civil war erupt or pull out two years from now and hold it off until then?" Buchanan: "The only difference is the amount of Americans dead between now and then". Everyone on the diverse panel nodded their head whether intentionally or not. (paraphrasing from memory)

Oh crap...we got off track again...
I used to have a Lite-Brite. It was fun.

Buchanan? He was opposed from Day 1, to which I credit him. Also, he was on Tucker Carlson earlier this week arguing with some Dem dude about how we can't "just leave" cuz millions will die. I saw it myself. The war is grossly unpopular, as is Bush, and don't think that a part, I stress a part, of the current pile on is not politically driven. All those repubs looking at the 2008 election, saw the November results, and are now positioning themselves accordingly. Remember Wistah, I didn't want us to invade in 2003. I'm not a war "supporter", or pro-war, as much as I am supportive of seeing us succeed. There is a difference between the two. To me there is anyway.

Yeah, we did get off track. Not like that doesn't happen in here though right? :D

Now the "SCARE!" is about the media covering - you guessed it - the media.

    http://www.boston.com/news/local/ma...2/01/tv_officials_defend_aggressive_coverage/

Bill Fine, general manager of WCVB-TV (Channel 5), said yesterday. "There is nothing that said this wasn't a diversion or a prelude to something bigger. .

"This is one of those days, for any newsroom, where you have to balance your news-gathering decisions with your ethics," said WBZ-TV (Channel 4) station manager Angie Kucharski, whose station began its reports about 9 a.m. "We stepped back and said, '. . . What will give viewers perspective and not create hysteria?' "

    Back off track...
Nah, I was going to ask you what "success" meant to you, but .....

Our only chance of succeeding is to get out, and initiate a diplomacy effort to build a coalition that will help rebuild and defend Iraq. War is not going to lead us to succeed. It keeps on emboldening and empowering our enemies. It's making things more dangerous.

I've been down this road before, and have explained why I don't think a pullout is a good idea. Personally, I think you won't see a complete withdrawl for quite some time, but a draw down will have to happen in 12 months, whether we like it or not.

I really have nothing else to add about them, what's been said by their friends and family in the media is accurate. If it's true that Peter knew about the chaos and kept quiet because he was asked to, I can't defend that. I was pretty shocked to read that in the paper (I wasn't one of the people Peter allegedly emailed). Sean, by the way, wasn't directly hired by the promotion company (he was hired by Peter to help him), so he wouldn't have received the "keep quiet" email from their office. It'll be interesting to see if the state drops charges now that Turner is paying the costs.

You know, the charges may very well get thrown out, but these retards didn't help themselves with that arrogant show they put on yesterday. What's surprising is that one of the tardo's in question could get deported. Wouldn't that be something if he does. Had Cheech and Chong just STFU'd, and been humble, I bet even the prosecuter would have let them off. Instead, by being complete azzwipes, my guess is they've ensured themselves a day in court. What happens we won't know, but why risk that in the first place?

    This from today's Herald.

During their arraignment, Berdovsky and Stevens laughed out loud as Assistant Attorney General John Grossman, chief of the high technology and computer crimes division, described the illuminated figures as “bomb-like devices.”

Minutes after the duo pleaded not guilty and Steven’s mother posted her son’s $2,500 bail and an Arlington woman who employs Berdovsky as a babysitter posted his, the suspects told reporters they would make a statement - but would take no questions that did not involve hair.

Under the law, the suspects could face two to five years in prison for each hoax device planted, if prosecutors can prove that they intended to “cause anxiety, unrest, fear or personal discomfort.” Disorderly conduct carries a maximum of six months in jail or a $200 fine.

Berdovsky - a political refugee from Belarus - could be deported if convicted.

The chaos that seized Boston for 14 hours on Wednesday began at 8:18 a.m. when Mark Adamoyurka, 33, an electrical engineer from Everett, told police he had seen what turned out to be the cartoon device on a support beam at MBTA’s Sullivan Square station.

Their friends who spent all day convincing reporters of what nice guys they are didn't appreciate the news conference either, but I think Sean and Peter know the case is paper-thin and they'll get off even if they don't play the media game. In the meantime, they got their face on the front page of both Boston papers for the second day in a row and they're already getting job offers from the incident.

I wouldn't have acted like that, but I see where they're coming from (and I don't feel like they owe anyone an apology, or even politeness).

Of course you don't feel they do, they're your friends, and you have no principles. So what job offers are they getting by the way? Sanitation engineer, or lettuce coordinator in Belarus?

Don't worry, they're going to do very well for themselves, and I'll still be able to sleep at night knowing you don't think I have principles.

I hope everyone sleeps well. I wouldn't expect anyone to lose sleep over what someone types in a forum. If someone does, then they have bigger problems than any I might mention.

A word of advice for your buddies, since by looking at them, I'm pretty sure they're relatively inexperienced with anything resembling success, save every dime you make in the next month, cuz it's back to McDonald's immidiately thereafter. :D

I'm not in the advice business, they're both very happy people and don't care about any financial or legal advice you can give them. Success doesn't mean wearing a suit, and those guys have figured it out better than you. It'll really piss you off if they get rich of this, though, huh?

Get out, they've figured it out better than me? Sure looks like it. :D

No, it wouldn't piss me off if they got rich off it, it'll only piss me off if the city doesn't try to prosecute them to the full limit of the law. I'm a capitalist remember, not a socialist like some in here. If they can get paid by being total losers, so be it. That's the beauty of free enterprise. It wouldn't be the path that I'd ever choose, but hey, I have principles & morals. You know, a couple of things that money can't buy.
