He already has an article in the globe--that isn't insane! Actually, when he forgets about his hate for BB, he is a very good writer:

"The Patriots have won many games this way since the remarkable dynasty Belichick has built in Foxborough began six years ago, and today's was another in what has become a long line of victories that came from a combination of strategical brilliance, boldness, and a firm conviction that somehow they will weather every storm and pay any price to win."

I still hate Borges. But a decent article once in a while is welcome.

Give Borges his props....this is a brilliant article.

    Whose toughest? Mentally,Physically?
    Who wants to win?

Borges is a Boxing writer,at heart,He knows how to tell the story of the "Cinderella Man".

    It's both simple and complex:

    Refuse to Lose......

The anti-BB bias is still there, even in this quality piece - this time in what is NOT said. Notice how the change from 2TE to 3WR is subtly presented like it's Brady's idea. Shouldn't the coaching staff get any credit ? Its a good story - players making plays. But, as feel-good as it is - it is definitely not the WHOLE story,

The article opens on page two. If you click page one it shows that Borges temporarly put aside his loathing for this tidbit:
"It was then that coach Bill Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels went to the more dangerous three-wide receiver set that left them with only Daniel Graham in as an extra blocker, which in theory put Brady at risk. But in reality it put the Chargers there instead."

Love this line: What did he think? That Troy Brown would not hound him like a doberman until the whistle blew?

on the INT by McCree followed by the Troy Brown strip.

I think Borges is working on his book about the 2006 Pats run to the Super Bowl.

He got to be the only local football writer who hasn't written one yet!

Grudging admiration. Too bad Borges is the only football writer in this town who actually understands and truly appreciates the game and all it's nuances - only he got off on the wrong foot with the man who brought us a dynasty team.
