Boehner’s office cuts off C-SPAN cameras as GOP takes verbal beating | The Raw Story

A strange thing happened Wednesday morning on Capitol Hill.

As Rep. Stenny Hoyer (D-MD) attempted to call for a vote to extend a payroll tax cut to middle class and working Americans, his Republican colleagues adjourned the House and walked out of the chamber. And if that weren’t odd enough, it got even stranger: As Hoyer railed against them for failing to help working Americans, footage from C-SPAN went silent, then cut away.

Moments later, C-SPAN took to the Internet to explain that it wasn’t their doing, but someone working for House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH).

    what a LOSER!

All the cheap slogans about fair balance, or freedom, or free speech, or freedom, or basic rights or privacy, are only tag lines for the GOP who are really only there to service the elite and extremely privileged in society.

It is all about the class of 2010. The Tea Party candidates that were elected are all about doing nothing and collecting their $170K salary's while they preach about small government.

There are some good people in the GOP. Unfortunately the Tea Party clowns have taken over the Party.

Link please. When did Pelosi shut down C-SPAN?

I would like a link from a mainstream source. Fox, ABC, NBC, etc.

    Naive? Nope.

If you read the link you posted, from August 2008, 6 Republicans were on the floor.

I will admit that it is wrong for either party to shut down C-SPAN.

    From your link:

So to conclude any attempt at some measure of moral high ground in this thread is pretty weak.

I'm not, I never started a thread when the dems did it. This is politics in DC I have no illusions about either side. I pointed out that the indignation just depended on whose ox was being gored, and it was business as usual which YOU chose to dispute since you wanted to make it about the Tea Party.

It's what partisans do. Visit some other teams forums. You can substitute "team" for "party" and and call it a political forum.

So they were pretty much 'occupying' the house chamber?

I guess we should be happy Boehner didn't have 'em pepper sprayed.
