    He is no Adam Seward.

At best he is the 53-58 player on the roster, he has some potential to make the practice squad.

He will never clear waivers to make the PS. None of our draft picks ever do.

As a Nebraska fan, I was thrilled when they drafted him. He's smart and a hard worker which helps, now we'll see if he can get his body and talent to the level it needs to be. I think he will make the squad this year because there is no way he lands on our practice squad.

Few years ago, at least, Nebraska was reputed to have
the finest weight room in the NCAA.
    Great recruiting asset.
Led to numerous Cornhusker linemen going to the bigs.

    How come a "hard worker"
hasn't ALREADY "gotten his body to the level it needs to be?"

I'm not a big Ruud fan and still do not believe that he will make the final roster.

Because "body ready for college football" does not always equal "body ready for the NFL."

He's better than every player that might be cut or traded by another team, I can guarantee that.

Re: Scout.com is reporting that the Pats have signed their 6th round pick

Players entering the draft do not spend their senior year focusing on getting their bodies ready to play football. They focus on scoring high at the combine and pro day.

Once they land on a team, the team gives them a specific exercise regime, usually very different than what the college wanted them to do, to prepare themselves.

I believe that a full year of NFL training is one of the big reasons for the "sophomore jump."

I agree. I'm not expecting alot from him, but hope I'm wrong. I actually expect more from Redd or Guyton than I do Ruud, but I guess we'll find out. We only have to hit on a couple or three of these young LBs.

He's only in the 230 lbs range. A Patriots linebacker needs to be in the 245-255 lb range. In short, he needs to bulk up to fit this defense.

    So who's still left unsigned?
