He just didn't seem like a good fit at ILB. With Mayo, Guyton, McKenzie, Bruschi and Alexander I certainly didn't see any room for him.

Let's hope that you are right. In addition to this IR thing, the last two WR's Patriots drafted in the second round didn't workout too well.

Actually they workout'd great. That was the source of the problem.
Is that even a real word? I mean, it's a word because you strung some vowels and consonants together and I understood what you were meaning and all that... but... still....
Why limit ourselves to bringing in only players cut by other teams? What harm could it do to bring the guy into camp?Do you think the Patriots should sign him?
Oh wait, nevermind we only ask that question for releases of the other 31 teams....
Mike Richardson says, 'dare to dream.'It seems as if any drafted rookie that end up on IR at the start of the season likely to get cut the following season. This can't be good sign for Brandon Tate!
Good one - I forgot about Mike Richardson, Thanks.Mike Richardson says, 'dare to dream.'
Yep, getting placed on IR as a rookie isn't a good thing, but it gives players a chance to work hard with the trainers and conditioning coaches, study the playbook and talk to the veterans and coaches, and live in the film room. I'm not saying the guys who didn't make it didn't do that, but Claridge for example did his rehab in Las Vegas, I'd have stayed in Gillette.Good one - I forgot about Mike Richardson, Thanks.
I guess I was thinking of Antwoine Womack, Kliff Kingsbury, Ryan Claridge, Oscar Lua, Bo Ruud, Cedric Cobbs (maybe?) and Hakim Akbar (maybe?).

Apples and Oranges
Ruud healthy was a late rounder
Tate, injured, failed drug test, was a late rounder. before injury, he was expected to be a 1st or 2nd rounder
The thing with Tate, if he comes back from his injury, he could be a long term pass catcher with Welker like change of direction skills, and great hands. I'm going to follow this guys progress, could be very interesting !
Craig was a good pick up, I'm looking forward to seeing him in preseason and seeing how he and the other youngsters are doing.Does anyone consider it significant that Ruud was cut but Angelo Craig who was in the PS was NOT released?
Craig is 6-5 245, exactly like Woods, Crabel, and Redd. And didn't Belichick just have a Presser where he said there were not many tall OLB candidates to block the throwing lanes, and that was one of the reasons he he didn't pick one.
Hester, with an "H." Let's not IR Tate until after the training staff has some time to work with him.Don't forget BrandonTate has Devon Wester (sp?) kick return skills in both KOR and PR ability. He holds the All time NCAA record for combined kick return yardage, despite missing the last half of his senior season due to the injury, that let us pick him in the third round.
Besides BB is in an easy situation. There is little room for a rookie WR. But in 2010, Galloway wil likely leave and open a position. Meanwhile he is a PUP/IR guy that wil not have to be exposed to the PS claims, and take hisi rookie year adapting to the NFL. Most WR receivers don't produce until their second or third season anyway.
