BJGE does NOT have practice squad eligibility

I don't think you realize how often elite RBs lose yards.

In 2007, Lawrence Maroney had a success rate of 58%. Success rate is runs of 4 yards or more on 1st and 10, 60% of required yards on second down, 100% on third down. A negative run is always an unsuccessful play.

58% was good for 2nd in the league.

That's an amazing statistic. May be you're right, my standards are just too high. Maybe it's biased because there SEEM to be so many times when he could get 4 yards but gets 1.

Don't forget a lot of people had Mike Cloud being the next Priest Holmes after a game where he excelled a few years back.

Nah, not me... he wasn't all that impressive at all imo.

He just had a few sporadic lucky games.

I don't think its that. I think people are just so clouded by how often maroney has been hurt, and how much of a dissapointing first round pick he has been because of the limited playing time, that they forget how much talent the kid has.

I am with you on that one: it can be frustrating sometimes to watch Maroney. I think that it's just a case of unfulfilled expectations, though. We all expected him to have the RB position on lockdown when he came in here, and, in that respect, he disappointed. When you look at the stats, though, he's actually a very effective RB when he's healthy. Plus he's still a cheap, young, talented RB though. Mid-to-late first round is great like that: guys are cheap enough that they don't have to pan out as stars to earn their paychecks. Guys like Daniel Graham, Ben Watson, and Laurence Maroney can earn their keep by contributing to a lesser extent than you'd expect from a top-10 pick.
