"Bin Laden also spoke to the ongoing situation in Iraq throughout the tape, heavily criticizing the Bush administration. He says to the American people, "you made one of your greatest mistakes, in that you neither brought to account nor punished those who waged this war, not even the most violent of its murderers, [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld…"

"You permitted Bush to complete his first term, and stranger still, chose him for a second term, which gave him a clear mandate from you -- with your full knowledge and consent -- to continue to murder our people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then you claim to be innocent! The innocence of yours is like my innocence of the blood of your sons on the 11th -- were I to claim such a thing."

Bin Laden says President Bush's words echo "neoconservatives like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Richard Perle." "People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there."

According to the transcript, bin Laden says there are two ways to end the war: "The first is from our side, and it is to continue to escalate the killing and fighting against you." The second is to do away with the American democratic system of government. "It has now become clear to you and the entire world the impotence of the democratic system and how it plays with the interests of the peoples and their blood by sacrificing soldiers and populations to achieve the interests of the major corporations."

Bin Laden comes close to offering a date for the tape with this by saying, "... just a few days ago, the Japanese observed the 62nd anniversary of the annihilation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by your nuclear weapons." The anniversary was on August 6.

Read the same thing on the ultra biased QUI CON, Jedi wanna bepost, find it somewhat difficult to believe that he is all that concerned about the Kyoto Accord.. he is in some mountain in Pakistan or Afghanistan somewhere living in caves and he is concerned about Kyoto?? Sometimes I wonder if this is a translation issue or might be a message to his minions about something completely different. It comes down to who is doing the translating??

What a fruit loop. Still though, I think we should hold a global summit and talk nice to these people. [IMG]

    How about this one:

"One should pause, think and reflect," the speaker says according to the transcript. "Why have the Democrats failed to stop this war, despite them being the majority?"

The answer to that question, he later says, is "the same reasons which led to the failure of former President Kennedy to stop the Vietnam War. Those with with real power and influence are those with the most capital. And since the democratic system permits major corporations to back candidates, be they presidential or congressional, there shouldn't be any cause for astonishment -- and there isn't any -- in the Democrats' failure to stop the war."

"The transcript indicates that bin Laden refers to statements from U.S. soldiers in Iraq, from an interview taped by a British journalist. Portions of the interview aired in an exclusive report on ABC News in July, which can be viewed by clicking here.

In the July 16 report, two soldiers with the 2nd Infantry division, Corporal Joshua Lake and Specialist Michael Vassell, spoke candidly about their experiences in Iraq.

"We got grenades going off. We've got an IED blowing up your vehicle. And then you're expected to go back in those four to six, four to five hours and get, and relax to come back out and do another six hours," Lake said. "You don't have time, you just don't have time to do it."

"Because we have people up there in Congress with the brain of a 2-year-old who don't know what they're doing. They don't experience it," Vassell said. "I, I challenge the President or whoever has us here for 15 months to ride along, alongside me. I'll do another 15 months if he comes out here and rides along with me every day for 15 months. I'll do 15 more months. No, I - they don't even have to pay me extra."

I want to know where he got the JUST FOR MEN for his beard. And if he (Bin Laden) is coloring his beard(narcissitic, egocentric) how can he be viewed as a devot Muslim. Hes demonstrating Western culture himself. The next thing you know he'll be carrying a Gucci man purse like the one A-ROD has.

Yeah, I noticed that too. He may live in a cave, but apparently that cave is right next to a friggin Walgreens. The Grecian is apparently flowing in Pakistan.

Whatever this DOUCHE-BAG says, our foreign policy should be the 180 degree polar opposite. I'll vote for that guy any day, democrat or republican. Why this azz-wipe remains alive I'll never know. Yeah, I'm willing to concede a few thousand goat-herders in the process as well.......... WTF

Re: BIN LADEN Criticizes Americans for Re-Electing Bush, Dems for Failing to Act, & C

I suspect he is alive because the only people who know where he is are making sure we don't find out. I imagine that there is a very small, and tight-knit, group of people around him. It would be nice to think that someone will rat him out one day, but I don't want to count on it.
The guy is a psychopath. He demonstrates callous disregard for others, be they friends or enemies. He reminds me of a rapist or perpetrator of domestic violence, who blames the victim. Has anyone else noticed that they (leaders of this type of movement) always send others to die, rather than go themselves?
I don't agree that it is OK to concede a few thousand goat herders for him. Firstly, they are not the West's to concede. Secondly, that tells everyone in that part of the world that we really do hate them and regard them as second class citizens. If there is a better way to recruit your enemies than wipe out hordes of innocent people, I don't know it. No one is going to be thinking, "well, it is Bin Laden, so losing my family was worth the sacrifice". The extremists will make sure that the goat herders are the story.
I am all for removing Bin Laden and subjecting him to a horrible death, just not at any price.

Re: BIN LADEN Criticizes Americans for Re-Electing Bush, Dems for Failing to Act, & C

Of course you are right............... that's just the angry side of my brain talking  . Every time I see a video of him, it infuriates me.

I have very personalized reasons to hate him, so yeah...... in times of anger, I'm like nuke the whole fukcing region, and we'll get em'. It's knee-jerk. I'm sure you can appreciate that.

At times, I feel the same way about Iraq too. Screw em, pull our troops and let them slaughter each other like the dogs they are. They I think of the responsibility we have, what we started, and the need to not abandon them to their genocidal hate.

Bin Laden should die............. a horrible, ugly death..... I wish for that daily (or at least every few days).

When will neocons admit that the region was better with Saddam in there than the sh*tstorm we have created now?

I totally understand the anger. He is a really despicable human being and I really hope he takes a long time to die from something really painful.
