Celebs are dropping like flies. He was 50
Overdose of Oxyclean?
Some people/careers are like a shootingstar. Billy seemed to come out of nowhere a few years ago to be the mother of all pichmen. He burned brightly for a short period of time, and then burned out.
Better to burn out than rust away.
RIP Billy Mays
Jeez, I'm 53. I must be on borrowed time.
I'm 55 and it seemed Mays camme out of nowhere about 7-8 years ago. He would appear and say "Hello Billy Mays here" and i thought to myself "who the **** is Billy Mays"
So do you notice that more and more you don't know who people are such as:
Jon and Kate
It used to be Lindsay, Lindsay did this and Lindsay did that. Lindsay cracked her car up, Lindsay goes into rehab, Lindsay checks out of Rehab and crackes her car up again. Lindsay and Daniel shop Miami, Lindsay reveals shes bisexual etc.
I know there are more i just can't think of them. All of a sudden someone i never heard of ever is in the news being reffered to with one name like i'm supposse to know who they are. Does this happen to you or anyone else.
I didn't know anyone that you just mentioned so I feel a little better. Thanks!
Looks like he was struck in the head during a rough landing - it will be interesting to hear the autopsy results:

I hope he bought that life insurance he was just pitching.
He did come out of nowhere with that Oxyclean a few years ago and just took off from there when it hit big, and really he's not matched with his shtick of being loud, up front, and hocking his product so over the top that you wouldn't forget it when you saw it in the stores or would buy it just to get rid of him...
She had been around for about two or three years before her abuse situation...a couple of huge hits already so hardly out of the blue.
They were on air for two years before their problems started and were actually one of their top shows despite the huge boost in ratings. For a while they were taking over the network with their show's airings...
This is the real out of the blue person...a couple of hit songs that you can't get out of your head in a good way that shot out of the blue last fall.
Give it a week or two, more "who the heck is that" and more Lindsay or Britney or Paris news will be back...for now those are the flavors of the month.
A shame to see him go, the guy set the bar for pitchmen that I doubt will ever be surpassed.
One person I feel sorry for is Anthony Sullivan, his reality show with Billy Mays won't make it to season two...funny it just wrapped up it's first season this past Wednesday no less
With all due respect to BM, rest his soul, who the hell cares?
It's certainly news worthy. The guy had become an icon of infomercials.
We clearly have a difference of opinion as to what is worthy and what is not.
Now they're saying on CNN that Billy Mays was hit in the head by a briefcase that fell from the overhead bin above his plane seat. It contained $4 million in cash he received from conspiring with Geraldo Rivera to have Michael Jackson murdered so the promoters wouldn't lose money from the 50 concert dates. Investigators have zeroed in on Rivera because of his elaborate murder theory whiteboard presentation on television last night, which he allegedly concocted as a ruse to make it appear he'd be the last person involved in killing Jackson.
Apparently, one of the head promoters is a cousin of Bernie Madoff, Barry Goldstein. Goldstein reportedly has entered inflated bids on unused Michael Jackson tickets for sale on eBay, to artificially create a market for the tickets as collector's items. His alleged hope is that fans who bought seats to the 50 shows will not seek refunds and instead keep their tickets as souvenirs, letting the promoters keep money for shows that will never happen.
Investigators have confirmed that Farah Fawcett was not involved in the Jackson murder plot.
It's not my opinion. All the cable news channels have widely covered the story as was talk radio today.
US Airways breathes a sigh of relief. ME says no head trauma and COD was a heart attack.
It's a sigh or relief for his family as they have no burden on their minds second guessing whether they could have noticed something or done something before that could have saved his life after the accident...just sudden and without warning.
he was a master pitchman... a marketing master.
In pure Billy Mays fashion, all of Billy's pallbearers wore OxiClean
button up shirts during his funeral in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania today.
again to my point... which is that what used to be considered newsworthy has now been extended way past what the original definition was. Kind of like a stretched pitch zone, as it were...
Well ... now we know where Billy got all that energy from ... sad ending to his memory.
