    NPC: Bill Walsh dead

This is just in. Walsh dead following complications from leukemia.

More reports will come in soon from all over.

No small deal here, 4 SBs, inventor of the West Coast offense, etc. Huge loss for all of pro football.

Terribly sad to hear this. Walsh was a transforming force in football -- the coach as cerebral chessmaster, a tradition Belichick obviously follows in. Will be sorely missed.

What a loss. A real football genius, a true gentleman, a tactician and a visionary. This truly sucks.

If there was ever a coach I could put above Belichick it would have been Bill Walsh - The man was an absolute brilliant football professor,Would expect the 49ers some day to change the name of thier stadium to Walsh Stadium,He deserves that much respect...R.I.P. Mr.Walsh

Bill Walsh wasn't just and X's and O's guy. He really understood the quarterback position. He visited the 49ers training camp a few years back and gave the QBs some coaching on their drops, footwork and the like. Every QB sang his praises when it came to that advice.

    RIP, Bill.

    Regards,
    Chris
