Love watching the BB press conferences on the Pats official site. As we probably all know a thing Bill is famous for is his slightly over the top praising of the next weekends opposition. Whether it’s the Colts, Steelers, Fish or Jets you would at times struggle to work out which one he’s actually talking about. I’m sure when we get round to Miami again even if they are still winless it will be:

“Miami is a good football team. They do a lot of things well. Offence, defence and special teams are all well coached and productive units. They’ve lost a bunch of close games and on another year they could be nearer .500. On offence they can drive up the field and with the likes of Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas on defence they can give you all the trouble you need. Cam is a great coach and someday soon it’s going to come together in a game…I only hope it’s not against us”

What I’m really wondering is what Bill would say if he was an opposition coach about to play the Patriots

Actually it would be BB "big ups" the opposition. That said , could there be a more ghetto / stupid way to say BB gives the opposition credit?

Err...I wasn't criticising Bill in any way...just always brings a smile to my chops when I listen to him describing the opposition. The point of my thread was to prompt for comical replies as to how he may describe the patriots as an opposition coach. Like on all forums however, there are always a few who take everything waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously

I'm curious to see, the week before we play the Jets, if he will do the same. Will he "big up" them also?. I expect that to be the case.

But wouldn't it be awesome if he said something like:

"The Jets are crap. We're going to crush them so throroughly that their fans will wake up sore the next morning."

He's going over the top this year, at least in the press conferences. In interviews with people he likes, he's better. But after watching the Colts post-game press conference, I'm convinced he's deliberately trying to antagonize or at least subtly mock the press. He's deliberately saying stuff that he knows is 100 percent bullsh*t, and that he knows everyone in the room knows is 100 percent bullsh*t, but you can never call him on it.

I think he knows it frustrates them and I think he knows they use it as a fuel to make him a villian. While I would never suggest he wanted "spygate" to happen, I am convinced that this is all deliberate. And it's not just about avoiding bulletin board material. It's about deliberately antagonizing the press and having them make him a villian week after week.

The bottom line: He has a team for which complacency has to be a concern. He's managing the situation. Brilliantly. Even though the cost has got to be pretty taxing on him personally.

I love the way BB manages the press. The more he antagonizes them, the more I love the guy. I hate the ******* press, with their disinformation and agendas.

I know. I was talking about you. You sound like a fool saying the phrase "big ups" with the straight face.

    #3 Jersey

I'm sure it does, but somehow, I think that several million a year plus the adulation of guys like Jon Bon Jovi helps to ameliorate that. :)

Last December Miami beat us 21-0. Seems like this is an easy game for the Pats to take seriously to me.
