I still say Willy makes the HoF.
Maybe not the first time around but he'll make it.

how many super bowls did Colvin play in which the Patriots won?

Mcginest by a long shot...however, i hate to put Vrabs in the same category as Thomas.......Thomas has been VERY inconsistent for us..........Vrabel has been kick a## on BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL........don't even begin to forget his impact as a receiver during playoffs/SB's.......Mcginest was awesome for us as well.......made HUGE plays at the most critical times.....I will never forget what he has done for this team.....Thomas has been a disappointment overall.....compared to what he shoulda/coulda been........

IIRC Ol big Ted was on his belly and really not in position to make the tackle but his dormant mass still made for quite the obstacle.:p

You're right about that, but Ted brought the entire Colts' O-line with him and the LBs up the middle were already at the 1/2 YL when Edge was tackled.

Of course, it was still a great explosive play from the edge (on Edge) by 55.

McGinest should never have left the Patriots. I'm still upset for Belipioli for that one. There should've been a way to keep the guy. I don't remember the details of whatever contract impasse happened at the time, but Willie still had plenty left in the tank.

I agree and at that time a year later when Seau came here and was granted #55 less than a few months from Willie's departure,I thought Belichick was a pure ********* for giving McGinest's number away so fast for all that he did here in playing a HUGE part in winning Super Bowls.

I would have held #55 back for awhile - Jersey numbers no matter how insignificant they seem always mean something to the player who wore it especially one who performed as admirably as Willie did from 2001-2005.

IIRC, Seau asked McGinest permission to use #55.. a number that McGinest wore to honor Seau originally. (shrug)

Big Willy, no doubt.
Question, do we go after Suggs in free agency in the hopes that he can fill that pass rushing hole in our D?

That's right, Willie followed Junior at USC and wore the same 55.
