Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.), piling on to Democratic complaints about President Bush’s speech in Israel today:

“This is bull****, this is malarkey. This is outrageous, for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, to sit in the Knesset ... and make this kind of ridiculous statement.”

You really shouldn't talk about Biden that way..

    Here's what he said:

"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," the President said to the country's legislative body, "We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

So he did not say "some people" you would think that someone so adept at taking other people's words are there own as Biden does, would be able to get the quote right.

Where exactly does he mention anyone, let alone Obama?

What he said is 100% true! Does anyone here really think that the terrorists are going to turn around and say, "oops, now that we have talked, we will stop cutting people's heads off".

You don't think he was referring to Obama?

Who do you think he was talking about?

Here's what the White House says:

ABC News' White House troops point out that the President has made similar statements in the past and Bush did not specifically cite Obama by name, though he did reference Sen. William Borah's immortal reaction upon hearing that Hitler had invaded Poland and begun World War II, something he has not highlighted in the past.

"(The President) has said similar things before," a White House official told ABC News' Martha Raddatz. "But it is in reference to a number of people, think Carter, others who have engaged in this or suggested it."

White House spokesperson Dana Perino was asked if Bush's line was a slam against Obama and she insisted, "It is not."

"I understand that when you are running for office sometimes you think the world revolves around you. That is not always true and it is not true in this case," Perino added.

Dana's really a great-looking chick. But like my wife says..."You're looking at me, I'm talking to you, but you don't hear a word I'm saying!"

Gee, where would George get an IDEA LIKE THAT

Sure, Bush probably should stay out of this presidental race, except to endose one of the dems :D, and the Nazi slant was a pretty creative one, but slice it anyway you wish. Obama said he would, without precondition.

Th eISraeli's seemed to love the comment based on the applause. Carter and N Chamberlin come to mind.

I think it is funny the dems were so quick to recognize that the comment fit Obama's approach to a T.

It is also funny given the way the dems have politiced foreign policy and gone to places like Syria to undermine the administration's policy (Pelosi's visit to Syria comes to mind).

    So....
You picked up on that Chamberlain reference, huh? Very sharp of you, PF13!;)
And Carter = Chamberlain in your opinion? Bit of a stretch, eh what? Do you think he was putting Obama/Clinton in that group?

The policy needs to be undermined. It's corrupt and immoral. I don't agree with Congressmen going abroad to do it, though...I'll give you that.

Do you think that we shouldn't try diplomacy with Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan...all of our potential enemies?

He didn't meet without conditions, he met AFTER deploying nuke missles to Europe and raising the spectre of the Missle defense shield and expanding our military capacity, calling the Russians out as the 'evil empire'.

Vast difference friom the sort of Neville Chamberlin approach advocated by dems. BTW at the time Reagan was decried for getting in the Su grill, people like JFkerry and T Kennedy thought Reagan was gonna start WW2 to the poit that Ted K advise the Soviets on how to handle Reagan...

"Israel wiped off the face of the Maf"

The Iranians want a wolrd caliphate ruled by Sharia law, with the believers and the dhimmi's. Don't need a dialog they are quite open aboput their desires in the area.

If you would like to be less ignorant about Iran here is a link with lots of their pronouncements:

That's a very dangerous statement. Why are you parroting the WH talking points?
When you say "the Iranians", who are you talking about? Is it the president? the Mullahs? Or is it the vast majority of Iranians who are moderate, pro-western culturally (not politically) and who desire a more secular lifestyle. Iran is one of the youngest countries in the world. Now is the time to begin a real dialogue with the young ones who will have an impact on the future. We are not at war with Iran, but it seems like many wish we were. Mostly those who aren't going to fight. You thought Iraq was bad.
