I disagree with that. Rivers threw for 34 TDs this season and had the second highest scoring offense in the league this year. Rivers posed his own kind of problems for defenses.

Roethlisberger is definitely dangerous if you let him get out of the pocket, but teams have shown that if you can keep him in the pocket (like the Pats did in 2007) that he can be pretty ordinary. Roethlisberger had a drive like Brady has had in the past and he is great QB to have if you need a come from behind or game winning drive late in the fourth quarter and overtime, but there are more to a QB than just that.

Rivers may be a better pure passer but overall I take Ben anyday. Rivers is not near as good in the pocket and Ben has the rings as well. Rivers has more TD's because his team gives up alot of points, and SD is throwing the ball alot. Big Ben's role is not to put up big #'s iand TD's it is to win games.

And I know you didn't mention it but I've seen it in other posts, as far as the whole "Ben has the better team/better defense" talk... Sure the Steelers have the #1 defense. But if I remember correctly, that defense wasn't on the field when he took the Steelers on a 90 yard drive in 2 and a half minutes. Or when he was flawless on the first 2 possessions to get the Steelers an early 10 point lead. The 'better team' argument is the same one Manning ballwashers used to discredit Brady all those years. I didn't buy it then, I don't buy it now. The Steelers were great for about a decade before Ben got there but never won it all until they got him.

I think you have to go with Big Ben.

You can get on him for all of his faults, but he always seems to make enough plays to win.

Is this even a real poll?

Its Roethlisberger and its 2,000,000 miles back to the runner-up

Lets see Ben has 2 SB titles and his team has won his division EVERY year since that draft and has been in Double digit wins all those years as well

Come on - Its obvious

Ben is the best.

and the most talented. Unless 'talent' is measured by games blown to the Jests in the final quarter all by yourself (cough, JP, cough).

Ben Roethlisberger has not won his division every year since 2004, in fact the Steelers finished 2nd and 3rd in 2005 and 2006, respectively. However you would have been correct in saying Phillip Rivers has indeed won his division all 3 years as a starter.

Ben obtained his first ring after having the worst performance by a winning quarterback in Super Bowl history.

Super Bowl 40

TDs: 0
INTs: 2
Yards: 123
Completion Percentage: 42.9% (9/21)
QB Rating: 22.6

Worthlessburger is the beneficiary of a great defense.

Supporting Defense

2004: 1st (258.4)
2005: 4th (284.0)
2006: 9th (300.3)
2007: 1st (266.4)
2008: 1st (237.2)

Meanwhile...

Passing Offense

2004: 28th (170.0)
2005: 24th (182.9)
2006: 9th (233.3) *However, worst year of career. (23 INTs)*
2007: 22nd (191.9)
2008: 17th (206.3)

Why?!? Because Big Ben has the best defense?

maybe he has a better Defense, but so what. the guy has 19 comeback wins in 5 years. Rivers is a good QB, but not as good as Big Ben. the burger is a winner. he does what he has to do. he is almost impossible to tackle and has the uncanny ability to buy time and find receivers down field. plus, rivers is a punk, i dont think anyone can deny that. when i look at a qb i want a leader, a tough nosed player, a smart player, a guy that can make the throws, can remain calm under pressure, humble. the berger has all those characteristics. rivers has maybe 3/4 . while rivers is a top 10 QB, the berger is top 5.

oh, and lets not forget about our QB. he had a pretty darn good defense too, but we arent about to take anything away from him because of that are we? i know im not taking anything away from brady, so i wont do it to the berger. although, i tthink generally the steelers do have a better D than ours.

Rivers has knocked the Colts out of the playoffs as an underdog two years in a row and has also played with a torn ACL against the 17-0 Patriots.

Guy is without a doubt a tough leader.

Tom Brady completely revitalized a franchise, Ben took over a team who already had a solid start to the decade.

Also in Brady's first five years as a starter he had better regular season stats, post-season stats and more rings.

Phillip Rivers. Neither Ben nor Eli are the type of QBs that can carry a team with their arm. Rivers is. Ben and Eli's teams have championships, but Rivers impresses me more as a QUARTERBACK.
