Good Debate Today On Patriots.com Debate Friday: Best LB of SB era?

..... so I thought I would bring it up in here plus add Ted Johnson who deserves recognition

Dominant in that playoff game vs the Jags and I really don't know if we get to the SB if Willie doesn't stop James on that goaline stand against the Colts in the regular season.

I voted for Vrabel because he could play any position we needed him to, and he played them at a very high level. By far the most versatile player on this list.

Given the options, I'd put McGinest at 4, Johnson at 3, and consider the other two 1 and 1a.

Tough call as they all had something special about them.

Meant more to the overall team defense: I'd have to go with Tedy with a slight edge as he was the field general on those defenses (along with Harrsion).

Best individual player: Vrable (can also get best impersonation of a tight end as well)

Best play: Willie on that 4th and 1 stop of Edgerrin James

1 - bruschi
2 - vrabel
3 - mcginest
4 - phifer

Johnson ahead of McGinest? No way. Johnson was a bit player in the SB era.

Definitely not Ted Johnson, can probably make a defensible argument for any of the other three.

Bruschi (but I see him through rose colored glassed).

Bruschi was the heart and sole of that team that won 3 Superbowls. The guy played in 5 Superbowls in his career, that is pretty impressive. McGinest would be 1A, but you have to give th nod to Bruschi for the many bigtime plays, and for his leadership.
