    Disable Jersey

Great entertainment! Gotta luv Rodney & BB's responses. I always tried doing this in sports but all I'd usually get was the other team's bench emptying and chasing after me. Not being a big guy (Samuel/Brown size), I knew how to run very fast.

Maybe this will help put an end to the belief that Belichick is serious and boring with noe sense of humor.

As a Bengals fan, I see this as a crafty move for Belichick. He talks trash (obviously joking) and loosens up the team a little bit going into a tough road game.
    Smart move.

That's our coach, nobody can ever accuse him of not being smart ;)

more to the point, he defuses the exchange of real trash talk to motivate the bengals, and puts the notion chad pushes off into the head of everyone. radio jockeys, television analysts, and possibly referees will be paying attention. Bill has started massaging the Refs days before the game even starts.

I hope it doesn't work in his favor, but it was a smart move.

Anyone notice how Chad's humor is like a Trojan Horse? Everyone is happy and smiling like bosom buddies. If that dude goes off on our secondary it ain't going to be so funny. I like Joey Porter's attitude towards Chad, "F Chad!" We need some attitude on this team like Ray Lewis, Joey Porter or Shawne Merriman. We got too much Will Rogers attitude on our team. We like every opponent now and respect every player out there.

Some people are calling this the "Changing or the guard" game. In with the new, Cinci, and out with the old, Pats. If it's true let's go out swinging.

    #37 Jersey

Great stuff by BB!!! Also an interesting note that BB worked out CJ before the draft a few years back, and was thought to be real close to drafting him before the bengals snagged him at the beggining of the 2nd round! It's obvious that BB thinks highly of him:cool:

BB and #37 sound as though they respect Chad as much as they should, interestingly they do not go over the line and sound stupid. But I expect this from this team and these players.

Not only that, but notice that the only time BB "comes out of character", he puts that pushing off thing out there. He even "playfully" mentions the referees. Brilliant comment. Sure can't hurt.

Not a single report came out? Huh? It was carried everywhere. It was in the Globe, Herald, PROJO, ESPN.com, Total Access, SI.com, FSNE, NESN, and anywhere else I looked.

Too bad Porter's done poop this season, and did absolutely nothing against the Bengals. I think he finished the game with only one assist on a tackle.

Be careful what you wish for. The Bengals wanted a guy to give our defense a bold, firey attitude, and wound up with Odell (and Ray Lewis may or may not have skated on some murder business). Fire can really enhance a defense, but it can really burn you too.

I think a big part of that is how others treat you. You guys have done what wasn't supposed to be possible in the age of salary caps and free agency. Nobody gets nasty with one of the great teams in football history, so you guys can't exactly get nasty back.

I sure hope it is a changing of the guard, and that my Bengals have some rings to win, but I won't believe the Pats are done with their destiny until the playoffs arrive and they aren't in them... Should it be a changing of the guard though, we promise to keep the Colts from ever getting to the SuperBowl. :D

I for one am now going to hold you to that, since it would appear we aren't up to the challenge this year, or at least not yet. :)

Good luck this weekend and may the team that plays the best win this week with no injuries.

    #12 Jersey

I think it's a tad premature to think of this as a "changing of the guard game" but it doesn't surprise me as people love a good, dramatic storyline. Too bad we can't get Howard Shore to write a score for it.

However, if the guard is going to change, I'd rather it be the Bengals than any other team I can think of. I have a real affection for teams which were the league's laughingstock for many years, as that was us once!

I'm with Rab. Just two years ago trash talk would not have been tolerated by Rodney, and BB would use it to motivate his players. Sad the way this team has lost so much of its bite in such a short time :(
