Manning, brees, manning ...... High paid QBs who won sbs when their defenses showed up

HOW MANY SB WINS WHEN THIS TEAM WAS DEFENSE ORIENTED?

HOW MANY SB WINS SINCE THIS TEAM BECAME OFFENSE ORIENTED?

the mistake was making this team 'dynamic' only to watch it buckle every time an opponent punched it in the mouth

This team isn't defensive oriented. It's utterly offensively deficient to the point that it cannot keep our quarterback up for longer than 2.5 seconds a snap. There's a HUGE difference between being better on the defensive side of the ball and being completely incompetent on offense.

You could take a basket case of a defense and put it on this team and we would look "defensively oriented" because our offensive line is pure trash.

The offensively oriented 2012 Patriots would destroy this team.

Thanks for missing the point

You're not breaking any ground by pointing out that defenses win championships.
What I am telling you is, defense doesn't matter when your offense is THIS BAD.

You've heard defense wins championships. Have you also heard games are won and lost in the trenches?
This does not look like an offensive line for a professional football team. This is embarrassing in how awful it is. Browner is coming back to theoretically improve our defense even further.

It'll mean absolutely squat unless our protection makes series strides.

Our defense had a big role in our Superbowl championships.

They weren't winning them with pass rushers practically racing the snap to our quarterback

Is it really that simple?

The SBs the team one weren't blow outs, and were 1 play away from going the other direction.

The SBs the team lost weren't blow outs, and were 1 play away from going the other direction...and the refs played a big part in SB 42.

Also, BB drafted player A as opposed to player B, might that have made the difference sine we became "offense oriented"?

The goal ought to be to build the best possible team with the opportunities available, preconceived notions of needing to be offense or defense oriented are stupid.

This offense could execute the scheme they used in 2001 better than the 2001 offense

That offense targeted one player even more than this one

Yes it is that simple.....the rest of your post wasn't worth reading

This offense can barely execute a simple draw play because the offensive line looks utterly unworthy of being on a professional football team.

Ya because the OL in 2001 was awesome!......Brady was sacked more often then

Really? John Madden doesn't agree with you, the "defense wins championships" is 3rd grade football "wisdom" that actually doesn't hold true. It's a combination of all 3 phases of the game which determine the outcome.

Of course the rest of my post wasn't worth reading, it conflicts with your opinion.

BTW, there really is no reason to come at me like a rude jackass with your "not worth reading" bit, unless you're simply a rude jackass, which looks to be the case.

*burp*

Ok

That line had 2 good young players and some veteran jags that were decent in the run game. This line has rookie jags, Who do nothing well thus far.

Was GRR good?

That OL was a mess that was schemed around......they could do that with this unit but the QB won't like it....either that or McDaniel don't know how

None of this is relevant to the point that the QB is 37. It is stupid to pin all of the problems on everyone but him. And you're not going to spend everything you have to wrap a cocoon around him. The exodus of good players in the last 8 years had to do with not only having to pay Brady, but to also pay everyone relevant to him. Which came at the expense of the defense. Who won the super bowl last year? And why? Who wins most super bowls and why?

As fun as it is to watch fantasy football, Brady would be just another QB if it weren't for the defenses that kept opponents muzzled while he took the part of the hero

I never said spend everything. Nice job intentionally being obtuse there, buddy.

Welker costed little money, yet Belichick traded him due to personal beef, for example....

and didn't Brady restructure his deal to make it easier for them to spend a little bit more money?

And like others said, saying "they haven't won since defense" is simplifying the problem. More importantly, even when they were defensive, Brady and the offense still managed to produce and and be clutch, consistently.

As where now, the defense is AWFUL, 8 times out of 10.

These lines aren't even comparable, and they certainly aren't comparable when you take into account that Tom Brady simply DESERVES a line that can protect him. With this crap we may not even have a line. We may as well just have two guys hold a freaking sheet up in the air.

No.....not really
