The recent Hines Ward comments and comments from other players / icons is really making me mad. Stop saying things like 'they beat us back in [insert year], it seemed like they knew the offensive plays'.

First of all, the videotaping was on the defense, not the offense (who has a signal to the QB).

Second of all, as Bill Simmons noted, in all of our Superbowls, we played worse in the 2nd half than we did in the 1st half, so how does that prove we used call stealing to make better adjustments during the game?

Third of all, Bill Belichick has a LONG history of coaching upsets, going all the way back to his days at the NY Giants when he took out Joe Montana and the 49ers in the NFC Championship, or when he stopped the electric Buffalo Bills in a Superbowl.

The guy made a mistake, but it is shameless to say things that imply Belichick is a fraud coach who has no skill. The guy has flaws, but one undeniable fact is he is a master coach.

all the teams and GM's which are questioning him - if he were to leave the pats at the end of this season - half of the teams will be standing in line to sign him.

BB is the best coach of all time... look at the 2001 team... see a lot of HOF'ers? doubt it...
The only coach close is Walsh, and honestly, he had so much talent, it's hard to tell how good he was as a coach.

half? you're kidding, right? there aren't 4 teams that wouldn't sign him tomorrow.

Hey now. Bill Walsh was waaaaay ahead of his time.
Everyone is still using basically the same West Coast offense he developed.

Lombardi,Noll,Shula and Landry are not far behind either

The difference between winning and losing in the NFL is very small.

Are you saying that Belichick didn't earn any of his victory's in the past? I think you GREATLY underestimate all the hard work, preparation, etc that goes into winning.

Videotaping a sideline only gives you a miniscule edge over what every other team does (lip readers, binoculars, sound recording, videotaping of the field).

Not sure what you mean by everyone but every team does not use the West Coast Offense. The Pats are one for example. The Colts don't use it, the Steelers don't, the Chargers don't, etc.

It is in heavy use in the NFL but not a replica of the original. Of the teams that use it, most use a hybrid and all offenses have some aspect of it. After all, the West Coast Offense is really a subset of previously deployed plays that work together as a stategy.

If you're going to try to separate Walsh, then Belichick is on his level with defense.

Through Lawrence Taylor, he single handedly made defense a weapon that could attack QB's, which also led to the huge present day importance of the left tackle. You should read Michael Lewis' book 'Blind Side' to talk about the devastating impact of a new way to play with outside linebackers.

BB is a master coach the same way that Tim Montgomery still holds the 100-meter world record. Both of them have the same amount of credibility tied to their records..

You're a hypocrite if you don't see Mike Shanahan as cheating then, since he uses lip readers every game. You're a hypocrite if you don't see Tony Dungy as a cheater for being notoriously good at stealing defensive calls. You're a hypocrite if you don't think every MLB team cheats because they try to steal signals and pitches.

There is a big difference between using performance enhancing drugs, or corked bats, which directly affect performance on the field, with the use of espionage (that happens in all sports) to figure out what your opponent is trying to do.
