If our beloved Pats obtain Tim Tebow.
Would the liberal heathens and pagans on this board still be Pats fans?

I think it would be one of the most interesting signings in football history given the history of the Kraft family and charity.

Do you think Obama will sick the IRS on the Patriots?

Andre Carter is a devout Christian and I didn't see any Pats fans jump ship because of that.

    "Heathens"?

    What about the conservative ones?

To answer your ridiculous "question": yes. Not everybody discriminates based on religious beliefs...

As of now it would have to be a trade, not a signing.

I can't believe how easily some people can change teams like they change clothes.

1 - signing him as a new clipboard holder would push no heathens, satanists, etc., out of patsfandom. That includes Jews too, plus those Christians who believe what Jesus did about making a public display of your prayer.

2 - the actual test would be if Tebow became the starting QB. That's when you're into the silly modified-thinker-God-salute after every TD. But hell, that's only twice a game tops in a Tebow-run team.

3 - for me, as long as it's a Patriots team, it's my team, even with this clown at the helm... and I say this for his ability as a QB not because of his public expressions of his faith.

4 - But I can't speak for what Andre Tippett will say about it :)

Question - how is this a political thread post again?

Shouldn't this be moved to the religion forum?

I like Tim Tebow. He's a really decent man of simple values. He's a fine role model. I know many liberals like him. I don't like his religious posturing anymore than I like politics on the football field. If he was on the Pats, I'd be 100% Pats fan, and would cringe a little every time Tebow did his "tebowing," but I'm sure I cringed a little every time it was 3rd and long for Bledsoe, so I'd deal with it.

I've already 1/2 adapted to Tim Thomas being a Tea Baggin' nut so as long as #12 wasn't pushed out for reasons unrelated to performance I'd deal with it.

For all you non local Pats fans Tim Thomas is the Vezina trophy winning Goalie of the Boston Bruins. The Bruins btw are the defending Stanley Cup Champs.

Now if God boy gets the starting job next year and ends up being interviewed by DeOssie the dirtbag at some point, I will throw up and change the channel.

For all you local pats fans, we know who Tim Thomas is. They still have hockey on the picture-box machine. I just don't know why he's in this thread.

But beyond that I have no idea what about this thread is political.

Is the idea that calling all non-Christians "pagans and heathens" is a political statement? As in "Here are my politics: I call people names"?

This really doesn't look political to me.

Of course its political. Of course it is.
Just the mention of Tebows name is already causing paranoia amongst the libs.
Can you imagine Tim Tebow in this neck of the woods?

The Boston globe would be constantly mocking him in opinion articles. And the Boston Herald would have pictures of him spending his non practice time at the Dana Farber.

It would be an insane culture war. But I guess some of you really, really, really smart, enlightned, cultured, creative intellectual libs can't see that on the horizon.

Fair point. It's because I can envision the nasty left ravaging this living saint.
It would be a "lord of the flies" redo.
Guys like Felger would crucify him if the Pats failed on 4th and 1 attempt. And blame it on clubhouse disruption of Tebow.

Relax dude I am not trying to get anything done to you, this is just a post w/o any political content. I know you're new & don't know that we've had a history of putting stuff that's religious just not political over in the religious forum.

This doesn't seem to be about the line between church and state, or about various interpretations of religious rights, or any of that.

It's a matter of how people will react to a really publicly religious guy being signed. Maybe it's a football forum quesiton, maybe it's a religion forum question, but doesn't seem to have anything to do w/politics.

Patters, 13, if you guys agree, it would be nice to see moved. But if not, fine by me.

What the hell are you talking about? Religion spills over to politics daily. Its part of the culture war.
And seeing that we areall Pats fans and its in the news about Tebow being a Pat.Its as relevant to this forum as anything else.

You know when conservatives ***** about TV shows like "Good Christian *****es"? Libs will say don't watch it or change the channel?
Well if you don't like this subject stay the F out of the thread.

Evidently, you root against the Patriots because of Tom Brady and his child out of wedlock.

    Cool!!! Who's YOUR team?

There's no "culture war." You need to stop watching O'Reilly.

I guess you don't understand that this is the political forum, not the religion forum, not the football forum. Your GCB analogy fails.
