Before Free Agency Begins, the patriots should

1) sign a lot of players (technically for futures contracts I think)
2) allocate players to NFL Europe
3) Hire and promote coaches and coordinators
4) Restructure Willie (or pay a $3.5M roster bonus)
5) Exercise the option on Dillon ($3M)
6) Waive Poole or pay a $500K roster bonus (before he get hurt again)
7) Waive any players injured in 2005-2006 that we don't plan to keep
(before we owe them 2006 monies, and before they are hurt again)
8) Enjoy the Senior Bowl and other college games
9) Review scouting reports (college and pro)
10) participate in the combine and review analyses

Any more?

------------------------------------------------

After this comes

11) Making decisons and negotiating with our own FA's, signing some early
12) participate in free agency, including bidding up some RFA's
13) perhaps make a trade or two (pick for player)
14) renegotiate player agreement.
--------------------------------------------------
Then comes

14) the draft

Looks good at the moment but I"ll have to think about it awhile. You've definitely gotten the crucial stuff. Why two #14's? ;)

Before Free Agency Begins, the patriots should

1) sign a lot of players (technically for futures contracts I think) The Pats have already started doing this, having signed at least 5 players.
2) allocate players to NFL Europe The Pats have already started doing this, I believe that they have allocated 3 or 4 to NFLE already
3) Hire and promote coaches and coordinators
4) Restructure Willie (or pay a $3.5M roster bonus)
5) Exercise the option on Dillon ($3M) I think they should ONLY do this if they feel he is good for another 2 years
6) Waive Poole or pay a $500K roster bonus (before he get hurt again) Cut him. His heart is questionable and he wasn't playing that well to begin with this year
7) Waive any players injured in 2005-2006 that we don't plan to keep
(before we owe them 2006 monies, and before they are hurt again) Ty Poole, Chad Brown. Any one else?
8) Enjoy the Senior Bowl and other college games

10) participate in the combine and review analyses

Any more?

After this comes

11) Making decisons and negotiating with our own FA's, signing some early This needs to be done prior to the start of free agency
12) participate in free agency, including bidding up some RFA's
13) perhaps make a trade or two (pick for player)
14) renegotiate player agreement. Do you mean the CBA? This should be the utmost priority for Kraft

Then comes

14) the draft

I agree with most of the stuff and added my own comments in red.
