I forget who said this, but it's true. Democrats can't resist a military leader who will lead them from battle.

Democrats: WWI (victory), WWII (victory), Vietnam, Kosovo (victory), Korea (stalemate), Cold War (stalemate)

Republicans: Vietnam (Nixon pulled us out), Desert Storm (stalemate), Cold War (victory), Iraq (ongoing)

If you want a real war, BlueTalon, why go with the wimpy Republicans? The Democrats are far better at war, though we don't rush into it like today's Republicans do.

OK, OK! I stand corrected. TODAY'S Democrats can't resist a military leader who will lead them away from battle.

(and I'll amend that, too. Today's Democrat party, not individual Democrats...)

No, it's just a matter of picking your battles. Getting Bush out of the White House and into federal prison should be the battle worth fighting. Iraq? Not so much.

    My Jersey:

And you're only a teensy bit biased, right?

What it means is that if there is anyone with any time in service who spouts a liberal line (particularly an anti-war line), Democrats glom on to that person. A classic example is John Murtha. He served in the Marine Corps for a few years, then spent a bunch of time in the reserves. When he proposed an immediate withdrawal from Iraq, he was everybody's war hero all of a sudden. Wesly Clark, same thing. John Kerry, same thing. It doesn't matter how intelligent they are or what their policies might be -- the fact that they are liberal and have military experience automatically makes them more credible to Democrats than anyone on the other side of the isle.

I'm extremely biased against our President! But that's by his own actions. Everyone is biased one way or another, it's only biases that exist before the facts are studied that are bad.

    Did not commit vehicular homicide
Did not divorce a wife with a disease so he could marry an ultra-rich woman
    Won't be appointed by governor

I guess he is SOL, oh well

Well, I was biased against Bush's conservative agenda, but I won't cut off my nose to spite my face if you know what I mean. If I agree with Bush on something, I'm not going to disagree with it because I hate something else of his. You don't know me well enough to give me that much credit, but I judge things on their merit.

Putting him next to the two draft dodgers running this country, who can't wait to send men to die when they did everything other than smoke pole to get themselves excused, and you're damn right.

Ladies, stop fighting. They're both draft dodgers. The time of hero Presidents who fought alongside their men ended long ago. For some reason people buy cowards, and the Democrats and Republicans both keep selling em.

Agreed. My point was that Draft Dodger Clinton didn't create a war to fatten his wallet while killing US soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines. Draft Dodgers Bush and Cheney did that.

Well, I agree with your friend, the late Hunter Thompson: we've never seen an administration as crooked as this one, and that includes Nixon's. We can talk about dishonest things past Presidents have done, and they've all done plenty, but the chuzpah this administration breaks laws with is something new.
