That puts him practically "on the number" for the Average number of regular season wins by a modern era coach in the HOF: 149.4 for the regular season plus 9.3 for the playoffs for a total of 158.7 wins.

Don Shula's high of 347 wins (328 regular season and 18 playoffs) was noted in the quote. The low is Greasy Neale's 76 wins (73 and 3, spanning the modern and pre-modern eras). As a reference, Vince Lombardi had 105 total wins (96 and 9). Bill Walsh had 102 (92 and 10).

Most importantly, IMO, of these coaches, only Lombardi and Chuck Noll won more NFL championships than Belichick: 5 and 4 respectively. Paul Brown, Weeb Ewbank, Joe Gibbs and Bill Walsh join BB with 3 Championships each.
