BB: "If we're reading a long novel, we're at page 1..that's the approach I want with the rookies...we've got everybody in...scheduled different this year than in year's past...good to get started...we start teaching them our system, their positions...we want to get them oriented and build from a good base...lay the foundation this week...we're inside this afternoon due to the weather...

Press: Rookies asking questions?

BB: We encourage them to ask questions...they come from so many different backgrounds, is hard for us to know all of their past terminology...

Press: Evaluation vs. instruction?

BB: More of an instruction...evalutation is in training camp...we just want to get these guys up to speed for they can be evaluated on equal footing...

Press: Small camp, inside?

BB: It's a great facility, better quality practices than tiny little bubble from before...we have a third of players that we would in TC...

Press: Throwing as much as possible or in moderation?

BB: We couldn't throw everything even if we wanted to...we try to go at a pace we feel is a good learning pace...some may learn slower or faster...we can always adjust it as we go along...

Press: Individual instruction now?

BB: Absolutely. They'll get a lot of attention...

Press: Freddie Roach?

BB: He's been very productive, has skills we think can be competitive as an ILB.

Press: Special teams?

BB: We work on it every day...some of it depends on position...some of these rookies were better players in college and didn't do much on special teams, but this is probably now their primary role...

Press: How many can catch punts?

BB: Good question. A dozen today, maybe. A lot more of that will come into focus in training camp...we can probably eliminate a few now...

Press: W. Andrews?

BB: Sure, he's done it. We've had other players. We'll have to see how that comes out.

Press: Jackson?

BB: That remains to be seen if he can have success in this level...we drafted him because we believe he can do good in our system...

Press: Every position gets evaluated?

BB: Everybody can learn in this camp...every position.

Press: Mills, pigeon holed?

BB: No, we don't do that to anyone...we'll let them perform at different positions...we'll see...

Press: Thomas...?

BB: There's some similarities we can work off, differences too...Texas was a great team with a high level of competition...but the NFL is still much higher...He's got a good base but will need to refine his skills...

Press: Texas primarily out of the shotgun...tight ends...?

BB: Some changes...kids from Notre Dame have it closer to ours, obviously..

Press: Mincey...tearing down college players to build them back up how you want them?

BB: Mincey will need to learn some different things at OLB, sure...

Press: But is he more important because he's learning a new position...

BB: It's important for everybody, a transition from everyone...some players can, some can't...

Press: Fighting against veteran LBs?

BB: It's competiton...

Press: 5 guys from Florida?

BB: More coincidental, not like we targeted one school...I don't read into it

Press: Bramlet?

BB: He's productive, in a good system for evaluation, we think he'll be competitive at our QB system...good arm

Press: Vernell Brown, intangibles?

BB: Great competitor, returned punts, good cover-man...we'll see how he does...

Press: Transactions this weekend?

BB: Wouldn't expect it...
