Everybody before him has done the same mind you, but whatever happened to "Change we can believe in"? This is the problem with politics. Everything is for sale. These are public appointments, so just imagine what's gone on in this country, for decades, behind closed doors.

He may have promised to change Washington, but President Barack Obama is continuing one of its most renowned patronage traditions: bestowing prized ambassadorships on big donors.

Of the nearly 80 ambassadorship nominations or confirmations since Obama’s Inauguration, 56 percent were given to political appointees and 44 percent have gone to career diplomats, according to records kept by the American Foreign Service Association.

The solution? Get the money out of politics. McCain-Feingold is a joke. In order to get the money out of politics, people need to stop paying attention to corporate media because corporate media loves the fact that there's huge money in politics. (Tip: voting for Republicans doesn't do anything to fix this.)

Have said before that we do not need an ambassador in every one of these countries, and if we do have them it should be a meritocracy rather than a political plum appointment...

Yay! A game of "I know you are so what am I?" My favorite!

(If you're not aware of you own accord of the endless problems raised by donations to political campaigns, and how you're guaranteed to lose if you don't play the same game considering that money is influence in terms of advertising, then there's nothing anybody can do to help you. Remember the Bloomberg outspent his opponent 10:1 and barely won.)

Note my sarcastic smiley but just counter balancing your propensity for singling out Republicans.

The rest of your post makes sense

The pols raid the game to help incombents they will never harm their own self interest. Indeed they try to curtail the ability of private groups to express their opinions. When it comes to political speech we should allow anybody to say anything first amendment and all. Howeer all contributions should be disclosed where the public can view them.
