    Nice try...

3 officers injured, gunman dead after NJ police station shooting | 6abc.com

Gotta wonder if he grabbed the weapon from a police officer - and, if so, how much easier it would be to grab one from a kindergarden teacher.

I wasn't trying.......I simply reiterated what the article I read said......

I guess if the cops can't follow their own policies in situations as simple as this one, then maybe we all do need automatic weapons.

obviously, the guy did not have his own weapon which is why he wrestled one away from a cop. someone already armed is not going to try to wrestle a gun away from anyone.......the kindergarten teacher stand a much better chance with a gun than without one.

nice try in failing to understand situations

The article you read said a cop did it? Really? Coz I can't find that anywhere in the story you linked to.

Unless, of course, an angry someone who enters a school doesn't have a weapon when he comes in.

    Right back at ya.

Whys that? Are all Kindergarden teachers weak, incompetent individuals or perhaps they are just to stupid to know how to carry a Concealed weapon and be trained how to use it properly?

I think that if most kindergarden teachers wanted to carry a weapon and be trained in how to use it and be expected to use it, they'd have become cops instead of teachers.

At one time I had a permit to carry - and I was trained how to use a gun properly - but I didn't do so at work, nor would I have wanted to done so at work - it would have sorely interfered with my ability to do my job were I also expected to be playing the lead role in The Shoot Out at OK ER.

Not at all, my money is on the 65 year old woman with the handgun and finger paints against the nutbag in body armor with assault weapons, unless of course you want them to carry Uzi's.

oops, my bad, don't want to offend the NRA and their gun nut members, I meant to say "the gentleman in the body armor with the assault weapons," calling them "nutbgags" is simply too offensive. I am sure they will observe all courtesies and only take one shot at a time while allowing Miss Baumgartner to take her turns.

Not a problem calling people nut bags and gun nuts really advances your cause. It actually funny that after you have been corrected numerous tines that automatic weapons are illegal and have been illegal for quite some time you still insist on tha people are using automatic weapons.

Your a walking contradition. Why would you have a CCW permit if you thought it would lead to the Gunfight at OK Corral.

I said I DIDN'T carry it at work....it wasn't my job to take on a gunfight while working....just like it isn't a teacher's job. A teacher is hired to teach - not to carry a gun and be expected to take out a gunman.

Right...because we all know that no one ever takes a gun off of someone and uses it.

Opps, wait a minute - isn't that exactly what just happened in your link?

That is why guns are not allowed on airplanes and in cellblocks and why police check their guns when they ener a Courthouse..

The assumption being that if no one has a gun, it cannot be taken away..

Why wasn't the alleged perp cuffed??

He could have been in the process of being fingerprinted or led into a cell......

"He" could have been "she" and might even have been the one filing the complaint.

Who knows? The PD hasn't given a statement yet.

The point seems to be, however, that a "good guy" had a gun and a "bad guy" took it away and shot three people with it.

Kind of puts a damper on "if the good guys had guns we'd all be safer," though, doesn't it?

Usually when you are that far into the process guns are usually not part of the process... doubt that was the case, as when the enter the facility the police involvement usually ends..
