Quote from one Baltimore fan on Indy site. Living in Md, I have to say, I have heard this numerous times this week. The only team the fans fear is the Pats.

Re: Baltimore will be pulling for Indy

A lot of us are pulling for Indy simply because we don't want to play the Patriots (assuming they are going to take care of business against the Jets). Fact is, New England is playing much better football recently. I mean you guys stumbled a little down the stretch, losing 4 of your last 7. NE seems to be peaking at the right time, they are the better road team, they are better in cold weather, and based on recent history they are simply a better playoff team. Not saying the Colts couldn't steal this one, just that they don't scare us as much as the Pats.

Fans, like the players, should NEVER be SCARED of any opponent.

ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY.......
In science, there's a phrase to describe a statement that has no meaning and can't be shown to be either true or false: not even wrong. The above comments fits that to a T... it's a meaningless rah-rah kind of thing to say.

Cold weather in Baltimore? It'll probably be in the 50s or 60s.

For the very same reasons (kinda), I'm pulling for KC. I would rather play Baltimore than SD, and KC has a puncher's chance of beating SD in SD (familiarity and all that).

Not that any of this matters, of course. KC's defense stinks, and the Dolts will tear them to shreds on Saturday.

Makes sense... after all I'm pulling for Kansas City this week because Baltimore is soft!

Why don't you guys want to play SD?

Does "Marty Ball" ring a bell?:rocker:

I figure regardless of order, we are should expect to play Balt and SD. If you want to be the best, beat the best. Lets play ball

SD doesn't worry me too much--but their week off combined with a cross-country trip for the Patriots would give them an added edge.

And thusly is home field an advantage in the playoffs...

Interesting! Thanks for posting that;I wondered how Balti fans were seeing things, and quite honestly I ass-umed they were among the most confident.
I'm not sure I have a preference re SD vs Balti. We need to be ready for either team, and we will be. I suppose a trip to Balti is easier on the team than a trip out west so I'll lean towards that scenario, but let the chips fall where they may.The only thing the Pats control is how THEY play.We get who we get. Go Pats!!

I agree. Even if KC beats the Colts, and assuming we beat the Jets, the remaining AFC games will be:

NE @ BAL
KC @ SD

I think KC over SD would be a major upset and an unlikely scenario, so we would have to win @ BAL and then @ SD to reach the Super Bowl.

If IND wins (and again assuming we do) the games are just in the other order:

NE @ SD
IND @ BAL

So we would have to win @ SD and then at either IND or BAL, probably BAL.

Article in today's Baltimore Sun on possible opponents next week for the Ravens.

This is the quote from the article.

Bottom line: On paper, the Patriots are more vulnerable than they have been in years. But Brady is still Brady, especially in the postseason, where he is 10-1. And Belichick could get into the head of the Ravens' offense. This is the team the Ravens most want to avoid.

Neither the fans nor the media in Baltimore want their Ravens to face the Pats. The Pats are too balanced a team and our strengths match up well against theirs.

And of course, Bolts Fans are rooting for Indy because we are not scared of the Pats!:)

Exactly. Back in my University days I learned how to prove on paper that 1 = 2. Now that was something I could take with me into the real world. :)

Bottom line - all you Baltimorans out there, it is time to be afraid, very, very afraid.:)
