Cut and run. I thought Bush had more backbone than to cave to a bunch of spineless military talking heads.

We have Iraq on the road to freedom, soon the killing will stop, the troops will come home, then the Dingobats will have to get back on the SUV kick, and the Wino's that are living under the bridges.
The Democrats love this war, it is their "big weapon", soon it will be on the "back page", they will be up sh it creek.

    Bush will be "Grinning".

When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again Hoorah Hoorah.

Little by little Bush/America is chipping away at the "smelly muslim terrorists" and he will get "Bin Laden" as he said he would, DEAD OR ALIVE.

Merry CHRISTmas (Labor Day Is A Holiday)

I wonder if the "Looney Liberal Neo Dems" know that the word "HOLIDAY" is derived from the word "HOLIER" Oh Jesus Mary And Joseph, if they find this out, what will they call "Next CHRISTmas" Happy Gift Day.

This is great news. It's what we've been calling for. The bad news is Bush is a liar...and will never come to fruition.

That's great news for the troops and their families. Too bad Bush didn't start listening to the Democrats sooner. By the way, a number of Democrats have called for troop reductions, but what Republicans have? And, as far as the economy goes, that's good news, too, though President Hillary will have to contend with a record budget deficit in order to sustain the growth and fight the social ills created by the increased number of people below the poverty line or without health insurance.

Republicans can't worry about the Iraq mess, too worried about who Jack Abrahamoff will roll over on when he makes his deal. Spending a lot of time working on Rovian tactics to discredit the judiciary who indicts them, and leaking stuff to Novack, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Savage and Coulter to spread venom against the legal community who are charged with doing their job.

    PFIEL,
Be careful, don't call the poor little munchkin "Neo Libs" any "swear words" you will be banned. They are all confused now, Bush is bringing some Troops Home, this has them all upset, in a few weeks they will have to go back to complining about the "Votes In Florida" and "Bush's DUI" :singing:

    God Bless John Murtha

Hawkish Democrat Joins Call For Pullout
GOP Assails Murtha's Demand to Leave Iraq

    By Charles Babington
    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Friday, November 18, 2005; Page A01

The top House Democrat on military spending matters stunned colleagues yesterday by calling for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, while many congressional Democrats reacted defiantly to President Bush's latest attack on his critics.

Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.), a decorated Vietnam War veteran, said many of those troops are demoralized and poorly equipped and, after more than two years of war, are impeding Iraq's progress toward stability and self-governance.

U.S. Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa) calls for the withdrawal of U.S. military personnel from Iraq while at a news conference on Capitol Hill November 17, 2005. Murtha called the war "a flawed policy wrapped in illusion" and noted a shift in public sentiment against the war. REUTERS/Larry Downing (Larry Downing -- Reuters)

"Our troops have become the primary target of the insurgency," Murtha said in a Capitol news conference that left him in tears. Islamic insurgents "are united against U.S. forces, and we have become a catalyst for violence," he said. ". . . It's time to bring them home."

Murtha's action, coupled with stinging rhetoric from the White House, was the catalyst for a remarkable outpouring of rage on Capitol Hill about Iraqi war policy, an issue that for months was relatively dormant but now is dominating congressional debate.

In sometimes vitriolic terms, Republican leaders accused Democrats of siding with terrorists, and Democrats countered that Bush deceived the nation in starting a war that he has no strategy for ending. The bitter exchanges came as polls show Americans are increasingly eager to have Iraqis assume control so U.S. troops can come home.

Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) declared: "Murtha and Democratic leaders have adopted a policy of cut and run. They would prefer that the United States surrender to the terrorists who would harm innocent Americans. To add insult to injury, this is done while the president is on foreign soil."

Harry, why would we be upset about this? This is what we've been arguing and fighting for. It's a victory for us. When the leader of our country is in the opposing party, the primary victories we get are when that leader caves in. But, what's better, is that not only is Bush caving in, but you think he's doing the right thing! Thank you. You should have listened to us sooner.

This drawdown was a very calculated exercise in political maneuvering, part and parcel to Bush's larger image resurrection plan- courtesy of Rover. They beefed up security before the election, a bit of news that falls to the back page, and then voila, "look, we're withdrawing troops as you wish". But its not what Murtha has called for, and will never be. Recall he asked for redeployment in 6 months "just over the horizon". That won't happen, so don't fool yourself. Bush is not listening to his commanders, because as usual Rover is calling for political achievements at home that are not yet met. A drawdown would be suicide for him as his remaining base is largely made up of holy war crusaders and big oil money corporatists, neither one wants a pull back. When you have courted this base, you don't cut the hand that feeds you.

Truth is, a bulk force will be required for decades. The FOBs will be completed before long and will ensure the occupation remains until someone else takes over, or the body bags pile up too high for our collective american tastes.
