Bachmann: Libya attack was effort to impose Sharia law on the U.S. | The Raw Story

I'm wondering if she truly understands how her words concerning the muslim brotherhood and Obama has fed the fire she is currently condemning.

Then I remember that she is Michelle Bachman, and a total moron.

A lot of this blood is actually on your hands Mrs Bachmann...but you don't get that, and obviously never will.

I have no love for Bachman, truth be told I think she is dumb and crazy like a $h!thouse rat.....but how is any of the blood (Ambassador's and staff?) on anyone's hands other than the people that killed them?

Sad that when there is tragedy some like to jump on the train ... like to be part of the story.

She is a train wreck IMO ... then again I'm not hardcore in the religion area.

Because according to the belief of a lot of Egyptians, Obama is funding the Muslim Brotherhood. They got this info from right wing blogs, and certain congresswomen. When Hillary Clinton visited there a few months ago she was greeted with people throwng shoes and fruts at her motorcade because they read that Obama was funding the muslim broherhood and buying their election from right wing blogs and a certain congresswoman.

Clinton says Egypt's tomato-tossing protesters didn't bother her - World News

Michelle Bachmann is a moron. These people BELIEVE that Hillary, and Obama favor the muslim brotherhood. Thanks Michelle Bachmann, you suck.

I must have been out of the loop HD. I honestly didnt know what you were referring to.

Thanks for at least enlightening me to what, at least partially, is flowing underneath the scenes.

OT: I will say that I took your point to mean that her blathering is partially responsible for the murder of 4 Americans (RIP). So in that vein I disagreed, which is why I asked.

Being "offended" is not justification for murdering innocent people.

"blood on her hands" figuratively...I appreciaite the opportunity to clarify. Its really quite interesting when you step back from how dangerous and violent things are.

Its one thing if Bachmann was correct, or had any facts or evidence etc. Its certainly a bold accuasation. Being correct on this is about as important as it gets, because words and accuasations MEAN something. However, people in Libya, and people in Egypt DO have the internet, the do read, and Michelle Bachmann's words do have weight. They become dangerous when they are blatant lies. The people in the powderkeg that is egypt believe Michell Bachmann's statemnet.

She is clueless as to how dangerous she is.

    She needs to stop talking.

I think a lot of us (both here on the forum, and in real life) need to.

The facts are still being gathered and a lot of theories being thrown around.

Seemingly the stuff that is known is:

    1. A "movie" was made
    2. As a result of this "movie" people were offended.
    3. Said people, using their level of offensiveness as defense of their actions, seemingly killed 4 people who had nothing to do with point 1.
    4. OR people planned this, and used point 3 as a guise.

I do find it interesting that the condemnations I have seen, condemn the movie first and the event second.

I also find it interesting that of the many groups that make up our species, by and large, only fringe elements of one uses offensiveness as a justification to kill innocents.

Ill wait with baited breath for people to start calling me an ethnocentric racist bastard.....

    you are forgetting #5

That the murders in Lybia and the Protests in Egypt just happened to be on the same date, Sept. 11th, and it is MITT ROMNEY's statement who is confusing the two as the same issue by releasing it as a singular condemnation

Statement On Developments In Libya and Egypt

    I'm going with that.

Huh? Wasn't just about every media outlet that is at least semi credible, saying that there was anger in the Muslim world over the depiction of the Prophet in a movie and that as a result of said movie, a group of people attacked our sovereign soil?

This isnt theory time HD. If you have "evidence" stating that the attack was completely independent of the outrage over the movie, please share. Maybe you already have, I admit I have not gone through the other threads on this topic.

YES thats exactly what happened. I was just as confused yesterday too.

The reports are that there were little to NO protests in Libya. Simply a coordinated assault on the embassy.

during the same time the Egyptian embassy heard of the protests in Egypt, and issued the statement to quell the crowd. They start to protest.

Same time in Libya, vans with people dressed in black assault the Libyan embassy, and kill 4 americans.

    then

    Romney issues his statemnet.

Can you share a legitimate source of this detail of the sequence of events?

CNN still has the "Arab world protesting movie" as the theme behind all of this.

Sure it is....you make a point of bringing it up every time it is a "righty" you disagree with.

Principle and consistency dictate that you bring it up.

I agree with everything except the racist name calling fear. I hope I'm right about that.

I'm disturbed that we need to try and balance out any condemnation of the murders with by first condemning the movie and it's misuse of free speech as if there is some kind of equivalency.

I do agree that political rhetoric designed to gain points here can have implications abroad. What's disturbing to me is how it's everything we do wrong that gets the top billing. We come off as the bad boys and spend all our time trying to prove that we indeed are. That's poor diplomacy as far as i'm concerned. And when we get called on it we get a team of four experts to analyze statements to make sure that they can't be considered actual apologies. "See we didn't actually say we're sorry about the movie, so there. That makes our response really has been strong". :bricks:

Time Magazine is reporting that there WERE protests that night (as with most EVERY Night)

about 9 minutes in, but she does a great job explaining the timeline

The protesters were outside, and it was a peaceful protest.

NPR is reporting that eyewitnesses say there were NO protests.

    Appreciate the links man.

While I certainly (if my point was unclear, cuz I have that ability), was not presuming/"arguing" that it was protestors who killed our guys. I have the impression there many protests going on; most of them prolly as peaceful as they would here, which some ***** hats took over and "perverted", like they do their religion.

Romney's statement is sadly about what I expected in this situation.

The whole thing is a poop sandwich.

Why are Utes in the ME so violent?

    It's not the heat.
    It's not the religion.
There's nothinig wrong with them genetically.

    It's this:

The feeling is that 30 years as president is long enough. President Mubarak said he never sough the office, maybe so, but he sure has held onto it for all it is worth. Under his rule, Egypt has fared quite well economically under President Mubarak as in 1981 the GDP was just $23.405Bn. (Source: World Bank). In 2009 that figure had increased to 4188.413Bn. Sadly though the last decade has seen Egyptian unemployment average 9.94% with the rate for those under 25 years of age running at 25.0%. The wealth has not trickled down outside of the ruling elite so it is no wonder that the people in the street have shouted, “more bread, more work”, as well as calling for the president to quit his office.

The clear unequal distribution of wealth and the absence of opportunities is a combustible ****tail that will lead to a risk of total social disorder. Any investors that are still exposed to MENA assets should selectively disengage, although not make a complete exit.

Economic growth in the entire area is forecast between 4.5% and 5.1% between 2010 and 2012, but it does not seem destined to translate into actual jobs. The Arab world has severe bureaucratic and structural issues to overcome.

This is probably not misogynist, as it does not make fun of her image, status as women or presentation.. it makes fun of her commentary. Quite a difference..

    Misogyny: That ugly bytch Bachman...
Not Misogyny: Michelle Bachman hops on the crazy train.. the latter does not refer to her gender as the cause of her craziness.

FYI definition of misogyny.. the hatred of women by men.. but thanks for paying attention.
