ATA Airlines shut down operations and stranded thousands of travelers Thursday when an unexpected loss of key charter flights and soaring fuel costs forced the carrier into bankruptcy.

Yep, a good solidly run company there. Don't hesitate to actually blame the crappy management when you can blame "the economy".

I think a restaurant closed down somewhere too today. Everyone better brace themselves.

Wes hopes it's just getting going, he lives for this stuff.

We're in a slowdown. Duh. It may touch on a recession, it might not, time will tell. I know one thing - the way out of it isn't to raise taxes like your party wants to do.

No-one's claiming to know when the end is. It could be June, December or next June. What's your point ? That you don't like what one person thinks ?

Thank you Wildo , i was thinking the same . :)
What they failed to understand is there might be more airline companies to close its doors.
We already having 3 dead airlines , and the guy talks about restaurant ! comon now ! lol

A slowing economy and high fuel prices appear to have killed off tiny ATA Airlines, Aloha Airlines, and Champion Air. A big pile of cash will keep the big airlines from that same fate, for now.

    From Wes' article.

What was that about a "huge airline"?

    Non-story.
    One airline closing means nothing.

so relative to US Airways group, which is massive, Air Tran is not as big. But it is the largest budget carrier that operates out of nearly every major city. So I'd say it's still a huge airline.

Yeah sounds similar to a restaurant.....
