From Army Times, reporting 64% want Rumsfield to resign, guess they are spending too much time reading the NYT, WAPO or listening to the Drive By Media....

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has come under fire in recent weeks from a variety of retired generals, who say he should resign for his performance in managing the war in Iraq. Do you think the U.S. war effort is grounds for Secretary Rumsfleld to resign?

    Yes 64.18 % (2,134)
    No 32.51 % (1,081)
    Don't know / no opinion 3.31 % (110)
    Total votes: 3325

So they don't want to be at war. That's a surprise. A funny thing often happens when you sign up for the Armed Forces . . .

Anybody can vote in that poll, most likely bombed by AAB and his likes.

GJAJ15, do you normally read Army Times or were these poll results emailed to you?

I read a wide variety of sites including Global Security, Army Times, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Fox News, Washington Times, Worldnet, NEWSMAX et al.. I do read more from the left than the right though, it is our responsibility to be informed of both sides of any issue...

I am somewhat surprised by that number. But I do wonder a few things:

    1. Was that an online poll of subscibers?
    2. If it was taken in Iraq, how many of them were National Guard/Reserve?
    3. What was the Rank Breakdown?

Those 3 things would make a significant difference.

    Just curious.

They make no effort at restricting that poll to just soldiers. I know 'cause I just voted and never served a day in my life. btw, I voted to kick him out on his arse.

Without regard for who votes, why would the Army Times publish such a poll?? From their site, do not understand what would motivate them to publish something like this, perhaps the "drive by media" have infiltrated them.

No clue, maybe to get their own feel for public opinion. Pretty dumb if you ask me, because people will percieve that as the Soldiers opinion.

How do you know it is not majority millitary who voted?? The poll has been going for a while, maybe you want to believe it is a ploy of the left, but I really doubt that the Army Times would publish something that might be this controversial without some merit.

With absolutely no bearing on this particular topic, I have found that the Army Times excels at exactly that. They publish alot of crap in the paper. I call it the "What's wrong with the Army Times."
They are notorious for having misleading headlines. This leads to alot of frustration on non-subscibers parts because the paper is sold sealed in plastic so you can't preview it when you are in line at the PX or Commissary. When you get home you find out that you have been duped once again into purchasing it. It's like the Enquirer for the military.
They do seem to have alot of interesting polls...too bad they are open to the general public because it would very interesting to see what solely subscribers vote.
I try to get "unbiased" news from Military.com, they seem to be a little more solid than the Army times group.
BTW The Army Times is not affiliated with the US Army.

A guy in this very thread said he voted in the poll. If he really did then that would basically make the poll null and void from a "military" perspective. What the hell does that have to do with a "ploy from the left"?

That's hilarious! Oh oh, I've got one - did they count the votes with Diebold voting machines?
