My point was that I believe he will weigh some other offers first, if they do not give him one helluva a deal prior to free agency.

Does anybody else get a bit peeved at the fact NFL teams are catering to players egos of being the highest paid at their positions? You can't even go to a game, park, have a beer and eat a hotdog for less than $300 a person anymore. Tell the teams and players to put their salary pissing matches on hold.

Is this deal better than Sherman's?

    No Jersey Selected

Yeah. And it should be. Peterson is a better corner than Sherman is. He just doesn't get the hype because of a couple of reasons. He doesn't run his mouth and his team didn't just win the Super Bowl.

Revis is nearing 30. Unless he is clearly the best corner this season he may not get Sherman/Peterson $$ offers. Making keeping him a little more likely. Also if Ryan plays great at safety while he is there and McCourty has a great year and can get Earl Thomas $$ they could let McCourty walk if Logan Ryan is no big dropoff in talent at FS. Then focus on Revis and other talent. Just an idea.

    Disable Jersey

When you've been trying to rebuild a strong secondary for 6+ seasons, it's always best to blow it up right after you've accomplished that goal.

Logan Ryan stated today that he's seen "no real significant work" at safety, aside from some minor looks much like last season, which was to be expected.

I don't think we can start to project him there as a starter by any means, let alone assume that he'll do well there.

As Brady to Moss stated, we'll save that talk for another time, but I don't believe that he's in the mix for a safety role in terms of actually starting. No looks at all in OTAs, no looks in mini camp, and the majority of his time 1/4 of the way through TC has been as a starting CB and starting nickel CB with some very basic and sporadic reps at safety.

I don't think we will see Ryan at S this year...not what he is and not what the pats view him as ATM.

I'd have to go back and see the situations that he played safety last year sporadically, but no---I don't believe in the hype of Ryan to safety as a starter.

We play in subs often enough, and have injuries to CBs often enough (along with 25% of the reg season of suspension) that Ryan should see something around the 51% of snaps that he saw last year (55% if you include postseason play), probably with another 10+% higher (IMO).
